At least platinum with bad pugs can be challenging.
I was wondering why you played with me.

Your not bad, I've played with you. I play with a lot of pugs and believe me there is WAY WORSE. Besides you've been in movies with Marlon Brando! Your a winner in my book.Tantum Dic Verbo wrote...

By far for me, the most fun I've had in this game is when I rock a Platinum with a complete stranger or three. I love the challenge. Particularly I remember having to completely readjust my tactics, but also some over all strategies I employed in the game when I was first introduced to phantoms creeping around behind me while I was concentrated on that Geth Prime. Died a lot before I really started to "Watch my six" in platinums regardless of who I had it set to. I like the credits, and I love the feeling of blowing up bosses like they were mooks when you get at least 2 kits capable of working well together, and players who're using some seriously equipment/consumables.
Platinums offer to me a challenge no other difficulty does. I don't have to scorew'hore to enjoy it, I just like working on the difficulty with funky kits. Did a pug plat on Ghost the other day with two Asari and two Drell (I took my drellpimpguard out of the closet) Everyone went down soooooo much, but everyone was quick to revive everyone else, so the foolery was fun instead of... foolish. I definitely did not score top, but I also definitely enjoyed myself.
Oh thank god. With all that tiresome complaining about PUGs going on on these boards it's nice to finally read a comment from someone who shares my views.
I only ever play PUGs because I enjoy the randomness and unpredictability of it and also because I like to drop in and out of lobbies without having to coordinate myself with other people. However, Gold PUGs have become much too easy. I guess I could play a low level character I suck with to make it at least hard for myself, but that would mean being an inconvenience to my team. So Platinum PUGs are where it's at. Sure, some end in tears in the second round or something, but that's part of the fun. It's at least challenging and extraction feels like an achievement, just like it did on Gold in the first few months after the game was released.

Bump for renewed curiosity in the same question. (Didn't feel like making a whole new thread for something I've already asked before.)

Is Husk Mode a difficulty? Because I'd really like to try that without possibly breaking my game files.

if i am pugging: gold
if i am at least with one friend and we want a challenge: platinum
if i am drunk confident and want a challenge pugging: platinum

Did a few husk modes a few weeks ago with Algae. Pretty fun but things got a bit chunky for me later on.

Scored 1st using a krogan sniper on bronze. Maybe it's a sign to move on to silver :3

Gold, and not just because I can't play Platinum for the life of me.

Gold absolutely. Most balanced between diversity, difficulty, fun and rewards.
Platinum is fun for time to time, especially if you have decent team. Bronze and silver are way too easy. I only do them, when I feel like soloing. Sometimes it's just funny to go total melee rampage with Krogans. ![]()

Now wait a minute, you're telling me that there are difficulties other than Gold?
That's uh... I didn't know.

Not really adding anything here, I'm afraid. Is somebody keeping track (as if anyone here cared)?
Gold is fun and balanced, and is where I spend most of my time. Gold PUGs are great!
Plat is good for friends with skills/combos.

Gold mostly for me.
I used to play Platinum with friends, but these days I'll only play a Plat game if I'm in a good lobby and the host decides to step it up.
Or if I can't find a Gold game.

Gold because platinum just has too many bulletsponge enemies and is such a DPS arms race with other utility skills such as crowd control being played down to such a degree that I feel much more limited when I play platinum. In gold I can manage to perform decently with pretty much any kit while in platinum I feel the choices are much more restricted if I don't want to be carried.

10-15, Silver.
15-20 Gold.
I generally don't play Platinum because the amount of usable characters is severely decreased, and given that I barely have any decent guns anyway... I'll stick with gold.

Too bad it wasn't a poll. It would be interesting to see how the average preferred difficulty changed over the time of more than 1 year. I'd expect it to go up.
I prefer the difficulty that's playable, yet challenging. Used to be Silver with an occasional Gold (in a group) when I stopped playing a year ago. Now after I got back into playing the game, I played Silver for a couple days as a warm-up and moved to Gold. A week later I was pretty comfortable on Gold. And I still have no business on Plat unless a group of decent players invites me (and I'm playing one of the 3 most powerful characters in the game). So Gold it is for now.
given that I barely have any decent guns anyway... I'll stick with gold.
You have THE gun, though! Both best guns in the game, actually. With a little practice, you should be able to play Harrier TGI and Reegar AIU on Platinum.

Gold.
Platinum is just one big boss spam and game mechanics force you to play a certain way.
I hope Platinum in ME4MP is more like Mirror Match in Armax Arena.

If I had to live by that rule I wouldn't even be able to play Bronze.
Why does one have to be able to carry? Bleeding out and starting a fresh game is a totally viable option. Usually more fun too.

Weak lobby & setup Gold, or strong lobby & setup Platinum. For melee, Gold.
