 Any character who was alive by me3, when you met then, could be taken on the Normandy and used as crew or squadmate, who would you take?

Personally, I would take Kal' Reegar. Because Kal' Reegar. 
Honestly though, because I know Grunt lives, and Wrex lives, etc, but the only way to save Reegar is taking him with me. (As much as I would have loved a Vorcha squadmate, hopefully that can be seen in me4)

Reegar isn't in me3, so I guess I technically failed on my own topic. Well theni switch my vote to kirrahe.

Technically, your first post says 'alive by me3' (unless that was the part you edited), so you're still fine.

Out of past squad mates, I'd go with Miranda/Wrex. Out of overall characters, I'd like to see a Batarian. Get some insight into their culture, as they're painted as the boogey-men of of space.

I was going to say Kirrahe but Balak would present a great opportunity for my Torfan Shep. We would bicker like an old genocidal married couple.

A Batarian squadmate, but not Balak.

He (or she) would have to be someone that wasn't a walking stereotype for how Batarians are usually portrayed in the series. In other words, neither slaver or terrorist.

I'd make him a veteran of the Skyllian Blitz to play off Elysium or Torfan Shepards, but not a 'humans are a blight' fanatic. The honorable enemy basically.
