Do any of you watch the series Homeland?

I don't, but while channel surfing I noticed that Leaving Earth was playing at the end of an episode.

I remember seeing something on Animal Planet once (some Crocodile Hunter wannabe who was wrapping their mouths in duct tape and stuffing them in sections of pipe for transport). They were used something from the Command & Conquer: Generals soundtrack.

I wonder if these shows get permission, or just trust to luck that nobody will put two and two together...

My guess is that in the case of Leaving Earth, the showrunners probably got permission. Clint Mansell is a pretty well-known soundtrack composer at this point, having done a couple of well-known films, so it'd probably be pretty hard to get away with just taking his stuff and hoping nobody notices.

Yes!!!!! I heard it! It was used for the teaser for the next episode. I usually don't like watching them, but when I heard it I was all like 'HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!'

i can't believe more people from these forums don't watch that show!!! its not the kind of show you can LOVE and "get" in just one season... after watching almost 3 total, i am blown away by where this show has gone and the emotions it exists within, no show has ever gone!!! and when i heard that song for the promo of next weeks episode after what happened at the end of this previous epy made my skin goose bump!!!

I imagine that the artist had rights to resell his work after a certain time period. It would make sense. That sort of thing goes on in the photography industry so I suppose it goes on in the music industry as well. Nothing wrong with ME music at all, it is entertaining stuff.

I think only because we're so used to it being associated with the Reapers.  I actually thought it was a good use of the piece.

The music from the ME2 launch trailer was used in the entrance of the teams for each football match in the European cup in 2012. I believe it was Heart Of Courage from Two Steps From Hell.
