So guys who did you choose to rule ferelden ?

Alistair

Anora

Alistair and Anora (together)

Anora and Grey Warden

Alistair and Grey Warden

I choose Alistair alone because it was the best choice for me because I played with male Cousland and Anora only wants power and I think Alistair should marry who he wants and I know he didn't want to be king but he will
be a very good king and ferelden needs him .

So what do you say guys ?

In my canon playthrough it's my female Cousland and Alistair. Tis a shame about Anora, I liked her. She'd have made an awesome ruler of Gwaren. Dangerous, but awesome.

Anora and Alistair, with my Warden there to help out and make sure Anora never decided to accidentally kill him or anything. And knowing Alistair, probably meant she was making all the decisions on his part. (And no, none of that Consort business. She didn't romance the guy.) Until she got up and left I assume. Which is fine by me, she was probably as comfortable in politics as a shard of glass in the urinary tract.

Chose Anora to rule alone (to spare Alistair a responsibility he never wanted) and regretted it as soon as I read about the crackdown in the alienage.

That's why I chose him to rule alone

I've had playthroughs with each ruling possibility except the Anora/Warden. The one I preferred out of all of them (mainly because I have a thing for "happy endings") was my King Alistair/Queen Cousland. I always hated the Alistair/Anora pairing. It's so obvious neither of them are happy about it, and I feel like some 18th century parent forcing my children into an arranged marriage (which really isn't too far off).

I did it all, but the one I liked best was having Anora rule alone and then executing Alistair.

Anora, with my Grey Warden by her side. Because she's got a good head on her shoulders and won't hesitate to do what she must. And my Grey Warden is with her to secure the good will of the people and keep her grounded. (Though my Warden really didn't give a crap about any of that. He just wanted her.)

Alistair is great and all, but neither I nor he ever wanted him on the throne. He's better off living a peasant life. (Or he would be, if he didn't act like an ass and storm off to become a drunk after I told him to either accept Loghain's help or shove it.)

I tried other combinations, but none feels as right as the Anora/Warden combination.

Alistair and Anora. Xanthos Aeducan was too busy ruling Orzammar, though he did maintain and exert a considerable amount of influence over Ferelden's affairs by working in tandem with Anora for the benefit of both peoples.

Helps that most of the other Wardens he led in the Blight all help him in some form.

My canon Male Cousland put Hardened Alistair and Anora on the throne. Alistair hates my guts for sparing/recruiting Loghain, but this is the best possible option for Ferelden.

An Alternative would be Male Cousland with Anora and Unhardened Alistair staying happy as a Grey Warden or dying to save Ferelden from the Blight.

Mage Warden didn't care and put Anora on the throne and spared Loghain just to spite Alistair who was soon executed.

Elven Warden put Hardened Alistair on the throne after he personally killed Loghain and completely disposed Anora.

I put my poor fat city elf on the throne by a mod. He's alone on it too.

Two runs with Anora, and I'm doing a 3rd one right now that'll end up with Alistair/Anora

IMO I think that's the "best" out of all the endings

I chose Alistair to rule it alone in two of my playthroughs.

In my other two, one becomes his wife and queen, the other becomes his royal concubine.

I have eight (nine?) Origins characters, but my (main) character put Anora on the throne.

In subsequent playthroughs, I put either one there, though never together. Anora tended to end up on the throne more than Alistair (slightly) because most of my characters usually rationalized ways to let Alistair do what he wanted.

My favorite DAO ending was for Alistair to rule alone with a warden mistress. While Anora may have been a capable ruler, her only tie to the throne was as a royal widow (dowager.) I didn't think it was fair to Alistair to have him rule with a partner who wouldn't want to let him. He will undoubtedly marry eventually but it sould be as king not as Anora's husband. On my playthroughs with Anora ruling, I always feel like I'm stabbing Eamon in the back. He almost dies because of Loghain's manipulations and giving the throne to Anora afterward seems wrong to me.

It was an very tough choice. But I ultimately choose hardened Alistair with Anora... and Loghain alive. Alistair and Anora alone make poor leaders (but I admit Alistair alone is better because Eamon gives him political advice) Alistair is very good to the people and improves the life of the commoners, but have little experience dealing with politics, while Anora is an very good politician but an poor leader (she purges the Alienage instead of helping it).

All of them at one point or another.

I used to elect Alis/Harrowmont because they were compassionate people, but the problem is that Alistair has NO experience with court AT ALL, and is incapable of producing an heir. Harrowmont bows down the the bluster of opponents so readily he never gets anything done.

So now I elect Anora/Behlen (sometimes Alis+Anora but Alis still can't produce an heir).

I see merit to Alis+Cousland, because the Couslands being the second most noble family (behind the Therins) means Cousland has experience in court. Anora is common-born, Cousland is noble and Alis has noble blood (even if he is commoner also). The only downsides is that they're both Wardens (which looks like a political manoeuvre) and the heir again. However with his compassion and her knowledge seems like a good deal... it just bothers me so much you can't arrange that ahead of time, only dumping it on everyone at the Landsmeet. (WHY?) Or that if Cousland and Alis are in a relationship it is the only way for them to both rule (he doesn't ask) under the grounds that "well heir and stuff" even though Alis thinks he cannot produce one AT ALL (which then also begs the question as to why he didn't bring that point up to Eamon. C'mon Alis get with this).

Probably the best solution would be Anora+Cousland, since she is an effective ruler, and he is noble born (with ruling capability) and assuming you weren't playing as an A****LE is still compassionate.
The downside to THIS being that, DESPITE Cousland being nobility (as in, second-only-to-dead-Therin-line).... to Anora's commoner (married a king but is the son of a farmer's boy - though her grandfather was knighted in Stolen Throne they are still considered commoners in DAO)....
...and yet Anora is STILL queen while Cousland is merely 'Prince-Consort', I mean wut
wut Anora, y u do dis
why you let alis king and me just prince OnO

I have saves that uses every option minus the Grey Warden/Mistress one I hate that one but luck has it I only have one Female save My Queen Cousland/Hardened King Alistair save.

I tried all combinations. My canon have Anora and hardened Alistair on the throne, which is the best solution (in my opinion), considering that the Cousland Wardens left for shopping.

I put myself on the throne along with Anora. Anora is a lovely specimen.

I also exiled Alistair.
