The Chantry has actually allowed mages to go without any problems, which leads to the annulment of the Nevarran Accord.
I don't see why you should attack the Chantry. It's even a stupid move, of you want to gain support if some southern countries. I doubt they'd support you if the mages start bombing churches.

That is true, but that doesn't cut them any slack for what they've done to the mages in the past.

Wanting revenge is just going to cause negative consequences for your side. If you want the mages to achieve their goals you have to let it go, expecially considering that the Chantry isn't doing nothing to antagonize the mages, for what we know. Bombing chantries will only make people hate them, not to mention that could lead both the states and the Chantry to take action. Despite losing most of their military the Chantry has still a lot of influence.
I don't really care what you do, since I'm neutral and I'm hoping for a third approach, but I don't think that mages could gain anything by bombing churches.

I agree that Anora's country being in a shambles doesn't speak well for her leadership skills, though on my last replay I was wondering again who it was who had hired the Crows to take out Loghain and Howe supporters. My guesses were always Anora or Teagan. I wonder if the devs would be willing to answer that for us.

Howe has long list of enemies.  Also the possibility of Orlais...with Fereldan in shambles, taking out the supporters of the current rulers would serve to further destabilize the country.

On a different note: hhh89 is correct in that, at least in a HN origin, Loghain knew what Howe did and still worked with him.

Whatever Anora's faults, they cannot be but few elsewise she would not be my queen

Alistair would make a terrible king. He gets the carefree life he always wanted. He is the anti-king

I choose Alistair alone because it was the best choice for me because I played with male Cousland and Anora only wants power and I think Alistair should marry who he wants and I know he didn't want to be king but he will
be a very good king and ferelden needs him .

Unhardened Alistair and Anora, not so much because its the best choice than because my Dalish was a big ol' softy that realized Alistair would flounder helplessly with rule without help.

I've done all the ruling combos, Anora/Alistair both alone, married to each other, and married to a Cousland. My favorite is:

Anora rules alone, Alistair stays a Gray Warden, Loghain executed for treason.

Mostly because I think people should have a right to choose their paths. Alistair (hardened or not) doesn't really want to be king. He makes a good king afterward, but he does it all for duty, not because he wants it. Anora wants it, she's trained to be queen almost from birth, and while her rulership does have issues, she also has the manipulative political chops to get things done.

I think her love/hero worship of her father got in the way of that. With Loghain dead, she's a great queen, and Alistair isn't a threat to her rulership, since he gives the oath willingly at that point.

well, as i see Anora as a cold "let's grab power" kind of woman (she ratted on my warden after all and was incapable of keeping her father in check (she should have ruled, not him - at least till Alistair takes over as his claim to the throne is stronger then her's is)) - who is also quite INCOMPETENT at it (her father easily dominates her (he just takes over and she can't stop him!) and when she goes behind his back, she gets caught and sells out people willing to help her *shakes his head*...i would have loved for Alistair to send her somewhere far away (not only a tower she might get out of again!))

so it is Alistair (hardened, I would never put him on there without hardening him) for Ferelden (i would love to spare him - but he is the only half-way decent option IMHO)

well, i did the "and i will rule with him" once - but normally this does not work, as my characters are mages most of the time :) (and often enough: male - same as myself)

as for some people bringing up Orzammar:

It's Behlen even though he is quite the Kin-murdering-bastard (and a tyrant, too) but with the survival of the dwarfs being on the line (their caste-system is IMHO slowly killing them - amongst other factors), i just can not go with the traditionalist Harrowmond (spelling? ^^) even more as he bows to the Assembly etc. to easily (!)

greetings LAX

Of course in the pc versions there's a mod that allows any warden  character you have to mary Allistair

sad we can do that with our console games.:pinched:

Human noble save: Cousland + Queen Anora
City elf save: Queen Anora, though my warden is bann of the alienage
Dwarf saves (if I remember): King Alistair + Queen Anora
Elf mage save: King Alistair

I guess I kept things pretty even.  If I were going to name one as canon, however, I would say Anora & the Cousland.

I chose Anora. Or rather, that's just how it turned out. I made the decision that if given the choice, I was going to let Alistair decide what he wanted to do. Since Alistair says he doesn't want to be king during the throne room discussion, the Warden respected that and gave it to Anora.

I'm not sure if it'll matter in the long run, because I have serious doubts that either Alistair or Anora (or the Warden for that matter) can produce any heirs. Eventually Ferelden is going to have a situation on its hands no matter who is chosen.

Usually it's my female Warden (rogue duelist) and (hardened) Alistair. I do make sure to swing by the Pearl and give him a...treat before he becomes king. Loghain is executed and Anora is imprisoned.

Alistair or FemWarden could possibly produce a child it's just highly improbable but not impossible. Neither has been a Warden for more than a few months a best. It's those that have been Warden's for a long time perhaps that are Barren. Alistairs real mother if we go with the is a Elf Warden, who met Maric during the Calling and did the horizontal poka, so yeah it's possible to knock up a femwarden who has been a warden for a time. However this makes the ideal marriage of either Alistair and Anora or Warden and Anora more likely to produce a child.

i always put alistair on the throne, even if i'm not playing a female cousland, as in if i'm his mistress or not, i dont play male protags, i refuse to put anora on the throne, also i will not make alistair marry her, i find that just plain cruel, but thats just how i play my game, also i always kill loghain with my couslands and mages, not so much with dwarves or dalish elves, but i roleplay as if i am my protag, so i really get into my characters mind when i play her

lol.  That's what I did with my two dwarves (female rogue Dwarf Commoner and male warrior Dwarf Noble).  I had Loghain recruited for my female dwarf, but that was just to get the Recruiter achievement.

Off topic: Loghain is a bad tank.  He kept getting dropped in fights with regular old bandits while Wynne, Morrigan, and me barely got our health down to half.  Alistair is a helluva lot better at tanking than Loghain.  I don't get why...

Loghain uses a greatsword, right?  If so, there's your answer.  The shield.

No, he's a S&S warrior like Alistair.  Sten is the one with the greatsword.
