To be a Magi, Rogue or Warrior... that is the question

On any other difficulty: Mage
Mages are untouchable on anything except nightmare. They dominate the whole battle and they usually do not even get hit. On nightmare the mobs got too much resistances and too much health to really dominate. That's where the rogue kicks in. Dual Wielding + Momentum = sick dmg or Archer + Mark of Death = sick dmg. Easy pick

Plus Morrigan is a very powerful Mage if you feel like playing as one if you do pick a warrior.

Nightmare is a joke with a mage. Haven't died yet and I'm on my last major quest.

You can open lock-protected chests.
You can find and disarm traps.
You get some unique dialogue options thanks to cunning.
You are a damn killermachine.
What else could you ask for?
And if you are really that eager to play a warrior you might as well just emulate one by putting more points into strength and going for massive armor and dual-swords.
Honestly, I see no reason to play warrior unless you want to play a tank character.

Yes, but the rogue(s) who join your party are always vastly inferior to what your MC can be at the same point in the game.
Also, have you looked at the XP you can miss out on if you don't have a good rogue in your party or play as one? There are quests you can't even do if you're not a rogue...
Not necessarily; I found Leliana to complement my rogue character well enough.

I can't play Rogue, I don't know why. I've tried several times and I think the farthest I've gotten was Haven before doing the bad thing which unlocks that one other thing () and then deleting the character.
It's kind of ironic I guess but, despite my forum name, I haven't been able to get into a rogue either. I have tried a couple of times. I really like the idea of them but, it just seems that they devolve pretty quickly into "get behind enemy & stab it alot"
One of these days I am going to try a dalish ranger type rogue who specializes in traps. I am hoping that will be the rogue that grabs my interest.
To the original question, my favorite play-throughs have been with warriors.
