I think we can all agree that this is femshep
What? Don't tell me you expect any other voice.
If you're just talking video games then yes Jennifer Hale is the ONLY FemShep. I could easily see many actresses playing the part in the movie.

Come on, it's obvious. The oppression is suffocating me, tbh. Males get all the good roles.Mr.House wrote...
I still want to know where the OP got the 90% from, or thew fact that they think all lbockbuster movies have a male lead.

The very idea of using Shepard for the movie is awful in my opinion.
No one is going to like it. All the people that had a costum shep and had a female one isn't going to be able to take the film seriously. And even those that had Sheploo, it is very unlikely people will be satisfied with the choice.
Actually, the very idea of doing a movie based on a mulitple choice game is from the start doomed to fail.
It seems obvious to me the movie is targeted to people that are unknown to the franchise or didn't play the games yet.
I agree. A big part of the appeal of this franchise thus far has been that you can make it feel a bit more personal in the choices of actions, appearance, dialogue and even love interest(s). This movie will not be for the long-time fans of the series, because there's no good way to cater to them anyway. I suppose I'll just wait and see and try to be as fair as I can to it if and when it's released, but I'm not going to be terribly optimistic about it.

Note: My original Shepard was caucasian. My second was black. Over-time I've played all races. I spend a lot of time in the create-a-shepard screens... not to mention the editor -> tweaking.

Bioware should stick to making video games that allow choice and customization.

If you haven't played femshep with a different skin-tone, try it! Race isn't really specific in the game, but it's fun to have diversity in multiple created characters.

My primary Shepard looks more hispanic. But yeah, even though it basically just boils down to appearance in the game, it is fun to have a variety of different looks like this.

Milla Jovovich - Resident Evil
Kate Beckinsale - Underworld
Thats two successful female leads from movies.

Make it full CGI and record the exact same parts with both a male and female actor/actress. Release one in theaters worldwide with limited showings of the "less popular" gender in key locations to show fan support, then release both versions in a special edition blu-ray combo pack that costs way too much.
It's perfect.

The assumption that 90% plays FemShep says something... and that something is not based on stastitics, be it here or the netire playerbase

Just look at Sigourney Weaver and Noomi Rapace in Prometheus, it can turn out really great.
Not as great as if William Shatner did it but.. maybe he's a little old for playing Shepard?
Would love it if everyone here was supporting a massive "Shatner for Shepard" vote here
