Coulda, shoulda, woulda. That ship was a lost cause the second the Geth gave the keys to the Reapers. Gerrel was right to destroy it when the opportunity presented itself.

Perhaps, but he could have waited until the leader of the reaper resistance and a fellow admiral were off the boat. I don't believe for a second that he attacked just to destroy the dreadnaught.

On topic: yes, the geth ships were awesome, for they have no windows structural weakness.

The ship just needed to be pimped out. Put some rims on it, some lights, custom paint job, new sound system, of course life support.

Gotta convince the Geth windows are cool before any of that happens.

Thank you, Farixen.

If you're fighting against giant deathbots here to wipe everything out, I think Farixen can take a long walk off a short airlock.

Geth ships and vehicles probably have the ugliest possible design in the galaxy, they look like giant metallic cicadas. And knowing that a Capital Reaper can tear apart any dreadnought with ease, I don't think it's necessary.

Who cares what they look like so long as they're functional?

Style is half the battle. Unless you're planning to make the Reapers laugh themselves to death.

Windows might be good too.

Slap on lots of chrome and neon and we're good to go.

Yes

Alas stupid Quarians and their hardon for war and Geth having to retreat to the Reapers ruined it for everyone.

Given how much the Council actually gets involved in anything, I'm guessing the Alliance could have built as many as they wanted and the Council would have waved their naughty finger at them and done nothing.

I mean think about it. All the atrocities the Council let slip over the centuries like the Quarians getting slaughtered by the Geth - they punished the Quarians; the slave wars that claimed millions and they did nothing; the Geth attacks on human colonies and they didn't help at all; then the harvests of the humans and they did nothin. Then they have the nerve to threaten Shepard with capital punishment for working with Cerberus? rotflmao.

The alliance probably could have built hundreds if they had the money.

That's sort of why I avoid the dialogue about the treaty of Farixen when talking to the admiral in the war room. The end of civilization as we know it doesn't leave a whole lot of room to give a vorcha's a** about galactic regulations.

Hardon for war? Under that suite, do quarians have... never mind, I don't want to know.

Correct, David, one dreadnought isn't going to do a damned thing. But pimped out it would look cool. You've got to admit that.

Right, so at least if life in the galaxy gets wiped out, we'll die in style with tricked out ships, so the next cycle will know how much swagger we had if we die.

It may not have made much of a difference against the reapers, but it would probably have been a big help when attacking Cronos.

On the contrary, the Council will cut you loose the second you come to them for help, but they're quick to pounce on anything that challenges their own power. They did nothing in reaction to Krogan expansionism even as the complaints flooded in until an Asari colony was targeted for annexation. They couldn't be bothered to step up patrols in reaction to Eden Prime, but broke out the dreadnoughts when the Quarians tried to settle on Ekuna. I honestly think that was the Council's intent, to let the Geth put us uppity humans back in our place without getting their own hands dirty.

What, then, do you think was his ulterior motive?

Every geth on that ship was still hostile, even after the Reaper broadcast was cut off (the fight after freeing Legion). They'd be working to get shields and weapons back online, and if that happened the dreadnought would have gone right back to tearing into your only allies in the system with no way to stop it. He ought to have warned the boarding team, but he made the right call. It's no different than Hackett destroying Sovereign while you're in the tower right next to it. Do you risk millions on the hope that three people (four here) will have time to evacuate before it comes back online?

To borrow Shepard's line, "You did the right thing. Just give me a heads-up next time."

I do, however, agree that their ships are cool. B)

I would save it.

If you side with the Geth or make peace you get +100 war assets for the dreadnought. And if you side with the Quarians, you lose the ship.

This is another interesting question. Would they do anything about Shepard's alleged destruction of the Alpha Relay since it killed measely Batarians whom they hated anyway? The Batarians might run screaming to them, but the Batarians are slavers! And they're Batarians. <_< So we're actually doing the Council a favor by killing more of them. B)

How exactly would you save it, though? It's controlled by hostile Geth who will scuttle it to prevent capture or repair whatever Legion did and go on the attack again long before you could concievably clear them out.

Anyone with any sense would want it. Being able to get it is another matter entirely.

Yes, I would have absolutely saved it if I had the chance. We're fighting a damn war.
