Hello,
I recently installed the complete edition of Neverwinter 2 on my new Optimus V X17 Windows 8 laptop. It installed fine, but everytime I run it I get a pop up saying "failed to initalize, XC000007B error". I have already tryied various thinks like compatiability mode, reinstalling the game, .net, VC+, DX and the like to no avail. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and can help me out? Thanks.

Does your event viewer tell you which file caused the error?

Hi,
Where should I be able to find the error in the Event Viewer? When I just tried to run NW2 again it made one from the source Restart Managaer, but gave no specifics in its details?

Under Summary of Administrative Events
Event Type
Error (2nd one down)
If you have had any errors, it will have a + sign to the left of error & clicking on it will show the errors.

Reporting of Restart Manager Event ID 10000 or 10001 is normal in the information section
If it was a Restart Manager Error, they usually fix themselves with a reboot.
An Error report should tell you what application or service it was trying to stop or start.
If NWN2 is calling the Restart Manager, I would think this means it didn't finish installing or patching.
Did you disable you Anti virus software while installing or patching?

It looks like nothing generates for Neverwinter 2 besides the ones in windows log/systems, stating its an application popup that basically states the error message is (0xc000007b) and the restart manager ones, so it seems on luck there. :/
I have also tried reinstalling etc with many things turned off including in safe mode, firewall etc. I should probably mention this is the GOG download version of the game. Oddly, both the first Neverwinter and Dragon Age both work absolutely fine, just the second one has this error!
