As long as it is by the respective own accord, I don't see a problem with it. If it is forced...well, it's like killing the person that you were and replacing it with another one that lives in your body.

And yet, the you of now and you 10 years ago can be compeltely different. Does that mean the you of now murdered the previous you?
Change is inevitable.

I'd probably support the Tevinter just for the sake of not having to have a future war with the Qun. The Qun believes that war is inevitable so there is no reason to support them in defeating another faction. I feel comfortable with the ability to stand my ground against the Tevinter.

Change is inevitable.

But change by anothers' agency is not. IMO the fundamental mistrust we have as humans towards others' attempts to do something to us "for our own good" is, as a rule, entirely justified. All "sacredness" of our natural identities aside, the pragmatic aspect of our moral injunction against things like brainwashing is based on this insight into human nature: that if someone wants to brainwash you, you can, as a rule, assume that this serves their interest more than yours.

Amusingly we are slowly headed that way with all these great acronyms!

While I like some aspects of the Qunari, I am quite certain I will support the Imperium.

And yet we allow ourselves to be brainwashed every single day. We just call it "education", "commercials" and "politics" instead to make it more palatable. But don't fool yourself, you and I and everybody else was brainwashed from the day we were born.

"Brainwashing" is used to cause a group of people to follow a single idea or a belief system.
If "we" (who is even "we"?) are being brainwashed, whoever is doing it is failing miserably.
Just take a look at BSN and you can see just how many conflicting opinions "we" have on practicaly anything.

I would side with the Qun because if we end up taking back what is ours, at least maybe some of the good fundamental principles of Qun that allow it to function so well will have rubbed off on us. I find some of the stuff about the Qun to be good, it just needs another viewpoint for to function with excellent precision.

So I look at it from what would benefit us more if we came back from it.

When the Qunari want to attack the rest of Thedas, they will. Regardless of whether Tevinter is standing or not.

And that is why I would side with Tevinter to wipe the Qunari out...which was my entire point.

My point was that it wasn't the Imperium that was keeping them from attacking the rest of Thedas. They would attack anyway, when they are ready.
