First, Male human warrior, did it for the last two games not going to break the chain.
Second, Female elf rouge, everyone plays a different gender in the game world a don't pretend you don't.
Third, Male Qunari non-mage, it'll be awesome.
Fourth, female human mage, got to even out the gender play.

It begs the question as what to do with my second character, since it had traditionally always been a female human mage, but I probably wouldn't want to rehash the class twice in a row.

Human Male Rogue. DA1 had that awesome OP backstab and I recall one DA2 run in which I was a warrior, but basically controlled Isabella the whole time, because she needed the most micromanagement and those stupid traps made it so you were obliged to have a rogue at the front of your party. And locked doors and chests make it a requisite to bring rogues, anyway.

Honestly, I hope they fix that and rogues aren't so obligatory. but I'm going to pick a rogue just in case they still are.

depends on how the 'backgrounds' are played out. Probably a female dwarf rouge. I hope being casteless or a surface/mercenary option is available

As long as we get back the choice of elf, human and dwarf I'm happy, as for "backgrounds" if it gets implemented back in it would be great as long it fits in. Though I guess I would barely play human/dwarves since in Origins always rolled City elf and Dalish elf. And of course I would make my first character an elf as usual.

Hah, I've already thought about my first few playthroughs and what I'll be making. I've always started off as a male mage in both DA games so far, so my first playthrough will either be;

Human Male Mage; name something along the lines of Donovan, Walter, or Malcom.

or

Elf Male (Possibly Dalish?) Mage; I'll decide on the name when I see which backgrounds are available.

But I play all races and classes, I like to see and experience it all. I also like to seriously role play and get really into my characters/story, so I also plan on making;

-Male Qunari Warrior (though Bioware said the Qunari inquisitor is not a follower of the Quan, I will name him Karasaad).

-Female Qunari Mage (though she is not of the Qun, I will name her Saarebas)

-Male Dwarf Warrior (two handed maul/hammer wielder )
-Female Dwarf Rogue (trained in the arts of finesse resembling the legion of the dead and the carta)
-Female Elf Rogue (gotta have an elf rogue...it's a given. probably an archer).

Class: I want to try a Rogue because in my like 4-5 playthroughs of Origins/Awakening I have only ever been a mage or warrior and my DA2 playthroughs were the same way.

Race: Human

Gender: Most likely male again.
