Secondly, I think it would I've been clear I'm talking about canon characters. I've played through Mass Effect as a Renegade. Does that mean I agree with anything Shepard does? Of course not. That's silly.

Look at how comical this is. How many are going to try and claim to me they 'hate' aliens? They 'hate' synthetics? I didn't think I would have to point out the laughable ridiculousness in supposedly 'hating' something that isn't even in existence. Isn't even proven?

Is this how it is for people? A set of ideals in real life, and a set of ideals on the internet? Are they they really that weak and fragile? Meek and mild in real life. Fervent supporters of genocide and murder as soon as they step online. Nobody sane 'hates' aliens in real life. The idea is laughable. Step online, super-duper pro human cause aliens and robots suck and are evil.

So, it's childish to not like a character or faction in a story? 

Depends on your reasons.

I think it's great fun to go on murder sprees in GTA. To see how many pedestrians I can mow down. Why? Because it's a video game and it's fun to mess around.

But if I said I enjoyed it because random pedestrians in real life deserve to die, yes, that would be incredibly childish.

Real life =/= Video games.

So I was exactly right, then? Two sets of ideals? One in real life, one for the internet?
