I see now, thank you.
I am a very big fan of Tali though I do have to admit she WAS the walking codex. I mostly enjoyed her banter on the missions and that pleasing accent and attitude. I can see how she would be boring to others though.
I wish more people on this would share your method of debate.

Would not the world be quite boring then?
It is really all a matter of personal opinion. For example I was not the biggest fan of Garrus when I first played ME. (Though he has grown on me in recent playthroughs) I think it had something to do with his attitude. That sort of know-it-all mentality on how to handle situations. He always had my back though!

I think most people became more interested in the Quarians after they read Ascension. I know I did. I still don't think I will go out of my way to pursue anything with Tali. I know what she can do, I'll probably spend my time learning about the other characters while Tali remains on the ship.
I don't think anyone is claiming the QUARIANS aren't interesting. Rather, it's that Tali herself isn't interesting. Not that I agree, mind.
Or is anyone claiming that? Admittedly I've only skimmed the bulk of this thread.

Also, if you both to take her with you, she is actually one of the most sarcastic and funny companions. Next to Wrex, she's basically the only wise-****** in the group. You only really get a sense of her if you take her with you, though.
That's why I'm excited she's back. She'll actually talk about her character instead of her people.

Ashlye is xenophobic and too closed.... I don't have to mention that she's ugly...
Liara is too naive and nerdy. Also she's little bit chubby
Tali we don't get to see her face.... in that way people can put their ideal face in that mask...
Also she has the best bodies amon female squadmates and cute accent.

Liara's chubby? I was under the impression that every single woman in Mass Effect was identical below the neck besides Tali and Benezia.
Sidenote, I'm not certain I grasp the...subtleties of the previously posted.image one hundred percent. But, I wouldn't say that I totally disagree.

It also strikes me that there is not one group of people consolidated around hatred that has ever done any good for their cause.
In any case, I like Tali more for her personality than I do about her appearance. She's just "my type", as it were. I'm also one of those who, in the remote realm that she does end up romancable, I don't expect anything more intimate than an emotional embrace.

No, I have to say that no I don't hate adorable tech-geek space gypsy girls with shotguns. They're actually fairly win in my book. Hopefully she'll even put on some glasses if she takes off her helmet or is already wearing them.

Gee, If you hate her that much, just don't give her the geth data. I like the way she responds to that one. Never talks to you then. Fun fun!

Tali is just kinda there. She's not very interesting to talk to and also don't understand why anyone would want her as a romance when nobody has any idea what she looks like other than having weird feet. i dont hate the character but don't understand the obsession that SOME of her fans show toward the character. It's plain creepy.
Dare you to google her name into google pics, with the filters off.
Good God!
I dared and i am not amused.

I'm a part of that group, admittedly. But what good have we done for our cause? All we've done is help a group of gothy, insecure teenagers feel isolated and persecuted...which really is how they want to feel with their glitter vampires and "misunderstood" heroines.
Not going to waste my time making an anti-Twilight, thread, though.

This. She reminded me of Kaylee as well, though Tali's more adept with weaponry
I urge the OP to try taking Tali along. It's through her banter and comments in cutscenes that you really get to see her personality. She's got a dry wit, and is quite enthusiastic about most things. If someone didn't take her on missions I could see why they would think her boring, as her Normandy conversations largely revolve around the Geth, the Quarians and the Flotilla.

Xenophobia- Ok, Ashley didn't like working with Aliens AT FIRST. When the mission got going, you could persuade her into thinking "You know what?" "We have to work with them, even though I might still be angry at the Turians for my Grandfathers shortcomings."
The deal is, Ash got past it. She grew as the story progressed. She was REAL.
Tali, I'm not going to judge her too harshly from the first one, but looking at the first one, I'm sorry people....but SHE as an individual was EXTREMELY boring. Her lore of the Quarians was amazing....but no one should really be like, Oh! I want a Tali Romance, She's Awesome, I love her!
Really people, We know more about Miranda's personality than we do Tali, and Tali was even IN the first game.
But saying that, I like Tali as a friend, and She is always welcome in my squad. But like I said before in another thread. This next game is her time to show us what she is really like, and I think she will be cool!
