Hate Tali? Seriously?! She is the best freaking girl in the game series. Plot wise, she made the whole damn thing possible. Everyone would be screwed if not for her. Personality wise, she has this great, nearly pure personality and still kicks ass. Combat wise, she does well with her shotgun, her combat drone, and actually charges the enemy. Tali is great, get over it.

Shes jail bait. I think that's why everybody likes her. They introduced so many new and great characters in ME2, if jail bait in a space suit make it in next game instead of Mordin or Thane or Jack I'll be very disapointed. Enough is enough, she couldnt possibly have any more value to the story.

ummm taking back the Quarian homeworld and/or working out peace between the Geth/Quarians.. thus allowing them to aid Commander Shepard against the Reapers?

 Before I start, let me acknowledge something. When I say I HATE Tali, it is different then when I say, "I hate Subject Zero". When I say, "I hate subject zero", I'm almost admitting she is a good character. I acknowledge that SuZe is an interesting character, its just that her attitude doesn't fit mine.

However, when I say that I hate Tali, I mean something completely different. I think the character Tali is so freakin' pointless. I don't mind the Quarians, but Tali makes me angry. Any other Quarian squad member would have been perfect. She is just uninteresting and unimportant in Mass Effect 1, and has next to no tie with the story (other than giving you Saren's evidence). It makes me angry that she of all people was brought back to the team. 

What baffles me even further is people who want an LI for this freak? Or even worse, FIND HER ATTRACTIVE?! He is a weird humanoid thing with 3 webbed toes and 3 long weird fingers. Not to mention she wears a gigantic robot mask. How can anyone claim her cute? Its kind of scary TBH.

Maybe I should be happy she was added to your squad in Mass Effect 2. Now I can kill her. 

Nah, I like Tali.  Cant say I really hate any character from ME1 or ME2, least fav for personality is probably Jack, though she is still interesting and I like her backstory.

I never really liked Tali. She was always a little too one dimensional for me in the first game, but in the second they really did a bang up job on her character. Still don't really like her though, but then again i've always liked Ashley.

Even though she's the same character, I like her a lot more this time around. Don't know why. Maybe it was because getting her and making her loyal were actually fun missions and didn't really have to do with her character.

This game isn't called Tali Effect. Everybody has the potential to contribute to the story. I guess what I'm saying is that we don't need her as a squad mate in all 3 games. Plot aside, there is only so much "Shepard, your ship is soooo big!" that I can take. She has become redundant in her dialogue. I have quarian burnout, you could call it. Let somebody else have the spotlight.

100% wrong.

I actually find her physically a bit "disquieting" but she is kind, strong, and intelligent... probably the three most important factors that determine whether a woman is desirable or not (in my opinion, of course).

In both the games Tali is an underdeveloped character IMO. While she and the quarians ARE important to the main storyline she doesn't contribute much off story. Thus I fail to realise why people have such strong opinions of her be it like or hate.

She's been my favourite character in both games. Not because her background story and personality is necessarily any more interesting than those of many of the other characters, but just because I find her so wonderfully likable - and her voice probably bears most of the credit for that.

I'm a sucker for beautiful, pleasant and/or sexy female voices - the main reason why 99% of my music collection consists of women or bands with female vocals, with my long time favourites being Tori Amos and Nina Persson (The Cardigans).



I don't think my FemShep would have romanced Tali even if that was an option though - she feels a lot more like friend material.

Tali was my favorite squadmate in the first game. If I wasn't traveling with her, it was because I was going for a different ally achievement.



If you dislike Tali, that's fine. Understandable, even. A lot of her personality is only conveyed in dialogue interjections, and very little is present on the ship. Most people want squadmates they can chat with on their own terms. That's why Zaeed has received lots of flack. Ultimately, though, Tali haters need to give her another shot in ME2. She talks a lot more about herself in this game, and has a lot more to discuss with Shepard.

I like Tali, hate Liara for the reasons I found her character immature in ME1, and now she's turned into aggressive, political-killer girl.

not that simple. she's also smart, curious, has good viewpoints, is kind, and has a good way of saying some things, among other things.

how can anyone hate talI?
i usually don't have her on my squad. but in me1 she was always in the mako, because of her technic skills, in case i'd find something to decrypt or hack.
she also has a nice accent - i was a little disappointed that not every quarian has the it.
and her personality is also one of the better (bw should have expanded her disagreement to legion on board).
other members are far less intresting. subject zero somehow doesn't seem to fit in. she is just a riddick-crossover.
grunt is - besides his origin - a standard krogan mercenary.
zaeed - well he was the first and only char i tried not to let on board when i met him.
but the others are really part of the universe. if you don't like some of them because of your personal taste, you don't have to take them with you, there should be more than enough to choose from.

I dislike her, but that's mostly a personality issue.  Give me ten more Zaeeds any day.  

I can see how it'd be easy to hate her, though; the rabidity of her fans doesn't do her any favors.
