I don't like her occasional clumsiness and lack of confidence. While for some it can be cute her tendency to fumble over words and become easily embarrassed simply annoys me.

I didn't like her all that much in the first game (aka never used/talked to her) and same in this one... until I did her loyalty mission. That was a great mission.

Really?  I'd heard a lot about it before doing it and was let down.  It also made me go, "Well, so much for my thoughts on the usefulness of the Quarians in a galactic mother of all battles deal.  Pack of idiots."

What's to hate? She's loyal, friendly, smart and actually someone you know will always have your back no matter what. Not to mention without her you would have never been elevated to Specter status, and Saren would still be one. The girl even says she will work with Cerberus, a group that killed her people, simply because she trusts you so much. People that Hate Tali really have a problem, because everything about her screams reliable friend.





IMO the people that hate her, hate her because she's so popular. H character is pretty hard to hate.

I don't hate Tali but I found her pretty useless as a companion in ME and virtually never took her off the ship. I found her personaility likeable enough but there's nothing I would find attractive would she be translated from pixels into flesh and blood. Basically I saw Tali the same way I saw Mission Vao in KotOR.



Now Liara on the other hand I really can't stand, ironically for the same reasons Veex used above (I don't know if it was about Tali but that description pretty much sums up my feelings about Liara). Man I wish I could have chosen her for Virmire..

If you dislike her because of her character, fine, but fans shouldn't color your opinion either way. If they influence your decision at all (good or bad), then they've won, and you're just a reactionary letting them make the decisions for you.



Make your own choices based on the story, and not on the fans.



In any case, I like Tali. Always have. For those who say she wasn't deep in the first game, you're right. She was the only quarian in the game, so she was their voice. Take her on missions, though, and her personality comes though. For those who say she isn't deep in the second, you're being intentionally obtuse. Her loyalty quest is one of the most involved in the game character-wise. So, they did a much better job giving her depth this time around. You can't deny that. You don't have to like it, but you can't deny it.

Yeah, I forgot that she was such a Shep fangirl.  Another reason to dislike her.

If I ever had to really save the universe, or even walk into a place where I might get punched in the face, I think I'd probably take the stone-cold professional killer and the crazy-as-hell psychopath.  Probably the sarcastic, quietly cool ex-cop as well.

Shy, awkward friendly girl wouldn't make the list.

She takes on 5 hitmen sent to kill her by Saren when you first met. She hunts down a Geth kills it, then cuts out his memory before it wipes. Also did you see the room she was locked in when you go to save her in ME2? It's like 15 dead Geth in there. I think you are not aware of her fighting ability.

She's also one character who no matter what if I'm Paragon or Renegade I'm always nice to her and I believe a lot of others are as well.

If I'd been able to get to that room in the first place, sure I would, as clearly I'd have had to kill far more geth.

Tali is probably my favorite character... definitely my favorite female one. There was a bit of contention with Liara, but what happened with her in ME2 got rid of that. Liara now kind of depresses me... her personality completely pulled a 180.

Anyway, she just seems like a nice person... upbeat, intelligent, kind. She has a nice personality while most of the personalities are dark and troubled. She is definitely the kind of girl I would go for.

Plus under that suit she has quite a nice figure. Miranda's is nice too, but lets all face it... Miranda is a b*tch.

I really liked her in this second game. There was a clear progression of her character from wide-eyed teen to young woman in command. I didn't like what they did with Garrus in this one, but I feel that Tali was a character they nailed.



I enjoyed seeing how she matured of Shep's absence.

I think actively hating any character in the Mass Effect universe is stupid...unless that's a response Bioware is trying to illicit.



Hating a character just because he or she has a large fanbase is just petty. And most of the arguments made here seem just as petty.

Im talkin about no pod. just watch her float away like shepard in the beginning. I like the VA for tali but the character comes out so whiney in nature.

 Before I start, let me acknowledge something. When I say I HATE Tali, it is different then when I say, "I hate Subject Zero". When I say, "I hate subject zero", I'm almost admitting she is a good character. I acknowledge that SuZe is an interesting character, its just that her attitude doesn't fit mine.

However, when I say that I hate Tali, I mean something completely different. I think the character Tali is so freakin' pointless. I don't mind the Quarians, but Tali makes me angry. Any other Quarian squad member would have been perfect. She is just uninteresting and unimportant in Mass Effect 1, and has next to no tie with the story (other than giving you Saren's evidence). It makes me angry that she of all people was brought back to the team. 

What baffles me even further is people who want an LI for this freak? Or even worse, FIND HER ATTRACTIVE?! He is a weird humanoid thing with 3 webbed toes and 3 long weird fingers. Not to mention she wears a gigantic robot mask. How can anyone claim her cute? Its kind of scary TBH.

Maybe I should be happy she was added to your squad in Mass Effect 2. Now I can kill her. 

Tali is no more pointless than any other ME character. Really the only one we need is Shepard, but then the irony of his name would be lost to us.

Tali sucked in ME1. The only good ME1 character was Wrex. The rest were all bland and boring. In ME2 however, Tali becomes awesome. She is a contender for the best side story, and her character is no longer bland and boring. Get over the hate. You're missing out. THe only truly bad characters in ME2 in my opinion are Grunt, Miranda, and Jacob (aka, Black Carth).

Get over it. Its not like anyone else in the ME1 character was any less bad/pointless than Tali (the awesome that is Wrex excluded of course). ME2 fleshed out her character, kept her relevant by her appearance in the early story line, and made her seem a little badass by her actions before joining the party. Not Jack badass or Thane badass, but that subtle bad ass where you're wondering if she's still a whimp or if she's gotten more deadly since you last met.

I really don't like Tali either. I think she's weird-looking, annoying, and not fun to be around. Miranda is the complete opposite.
