Wow. CSMG cooldown is really long.

That has everything to do with it. Wait until you get it at X, slap a magazine and ap mod on it and it's a tempest with the accuracy of a locust, with a damage boost vs. armor.

That still doesn't sound better than the Hurricane, the Tempest
has **** damage for higher difficulties.

I'll rather use a Lancer.

Both have their place but the CSMG is more versatile IMHO. It's weight, accuracy, armor damage, is a little too good IMHO.

Not that much lighter, Lancer has good enough accuracy, larger clip and better damage - armor damage included and a MUCH better sound.

I like the Lancer but it has accuracy issues out of cover. The CSMG is arguably the most stable and accurate weapon in the game so great for headshots at distance.

I absolutely loath the CSMG. It weighs more than some
of the assault rifles I have, it does less than half the Hurricane's
damage, and doesn't fire half as quickly. The only things the
CSMG have over the Hurricane are accuracy and capacity, which
is a given for ammo-less weapons.

And to top it all off, its cooldown is hella obnoxious. In my opinion,
this is one of the first URs I'd consider tossing out the air-lock.

But on the plus side, your avatar never fails to bring a smile to my face. :wizard:

You're not going to get mad deeps out of it. But you can actually hit things across the map. Great for casters. B)

You need to use the GI or other classes with accuracy bonuses with the hurricane to get similar accuracy.

The CSMG becomes immensely better as it levels up. Also the hurricane is pretty ridiculous with very few weapons being able to compare to its damage output. On caster kits the CSMG is great because you do not have to worry about going near ammo boxes or reloading. It also has great accuracy, little recoil, and a nice modifier against armor. It has its place especially at higher levels.

I'm also stuck with a CSMG I, but I can see how a decent level would make it a good gun.

It's accurate, never needs to visit an ammo crate, and that anti-armour 50% multiplier is nice.
Warp ammo, damage barrel, extended mag, and an adept with a spammable primer is a recipe for carnage.

Incendiary ammo, AP barrel and extended mag on an engineer sounds good too.

But the CSMG I's tiny mag ruins the potential, so don't judge it by the starter version.
