Found out that if you press the DoEverythingButton while backpedaling, you reload cancel without magnetizing towards cover. Not really helpful for me being on PC, but maybe it could be for someone who plays on console.

What? It does amazing things for many weapons. It makes the Punisher actually usable at medium rrange on non accuracy classes.

I did not know this.
Mind you, I'm only a step short, since I often just stand still for a split second to do almost the same thing, but I'll try training myself to start walking backwards just before the reload cancel, in those situations.

I have gradually changed virtually all of my builds from balanced, or defensive specs, to offensive ones, and been genuinely surprised by how survivable some of them are. These are the biggest learning changes for me that have happened in recent months. (I also I recently learned that I can be a rather rampant score-w**re with only a handful of surprisingly subtle adjustments to my playstyle.)
I have learned that it is almost impossible for me to break two habits, that I'm not sure if I'll overcome before I stop playing ME 3:
- I compulsively conserve grenades. Not quite to the point where I only use them for emergencies, or anything, but I am far too conservative with them. On the few occasions that I manage to use all my Thermal Clips and really do let loose with them, I almost always end up with no clips for the last wave or two, and find myself struggling in a situation where I really wish I had one or two more grenades (which basically reinforces the bad habit by discouraging me from breaking it.)
- I compulsively reload my weapon before the clip is empty. I do it as soon as I'm not actively aiming at anything. This is occasionally good, since it takes advantage of breaks in the action to replenish the clip to full. But usually, my timing with it is bad, because the game is so fast that I usually have to either cancel it, or wait for it to finish when I could be lining up another shot.

I've always gone damage, but next time I'm going with Drain. Too many good players are going with that evolution.l

I discovered a way to enjoy my male quarians(qmi&qme) with something else besides venom, csr.
I recommend trying the saber and suppressor on the QMI, saber is good for the QME as well.
edit:
I've respecced my AA recently for bonus power on stasis bubble and I'm just loving it. Never knew how fun and effective it could really be.

You mean when the animation starts up but not the actual electric shockwave? I take advantage of that too, doing so before meleeing.

Yep. It comes in handy when there's a Brute or a couple of Dragoons in front of me and I just hipfired the Kishock. Instant Fire Explosion.

I haven't tried either of those things in a while, although I do have an unreasoning biased hatred of infiltrators in MP.

On the whole venom-off-host line. I've only ever used it off-host. I live with 4 other roommates who all are internet junkies/gamers so I know my hosting is pretty bad if we're all on at the same time. (Better when there's only a couple of us awake though.) so I usually don't host games. I did alright with it. Might have to try it hosting, never really noticed a problem with it off-host as I usually was charging and hitting the ground in front of enemies. Didn't really matter where I aimed. (Within reason ofc.)

I found your entire reply to be really quite interesting because that was me. Almost exactly. And in some respects still is.
I still like a bit of fitness or a cyclonic on certain kits, but I definitely went from a defensive mentality to an offensive one about, 8 months ago-ish. Namely I went from a 4/4 Passives/Fitness to a 5/3 or 0 fitness build on some kits to specify.
I used to compulsively conserve grenades as well. That all ended when I started Drelling, but it wasn't easy. I had to consciously choose to use them for quite a while instead of instinctively/responsively using them. However! I still am terribad at using my Thermals, even on grenadiers. A work in progress to be sure.
I also compulsively reload my weapon, although I'm fairly happy now with the timing I have for doing that. I rarely get myself into trouble with it anymore. There's one reason for this, and it's my favourite (maybe only) crutch...
...I can no longer play the game without Gethvision. (Honestly.) I hate regular vision now. It's bad, but there it is. I always have a Geth Scanner on, the situational awareness is ingrained in me. It's to the point where I won't even used Grenade V mod on my grenadier kits.
