She's still changing though the demo is closer how she will look in the final game.

I'm sure if this pic was better known there wouldn't be half as many complaints.

Allow me to post a bigger version of it.  :wizard:

There seem to be a trend that with potential male LI characters, most of the conversations are about how their they're background story is gonna be, as well as their personality while with female LI characters, it is about their look. I'm not saying either of them are bad, but it's just very different. We could open our very own gender study here at BSN, courtesy of EA.

Isn't that expected though?

I'm no statistician or gender studies expert but it seems to generally fit what straight male and female gamers look for in characters, at least superficially.

I may be wrong.

What about the sexual orientation though? There seem to be a quite a few LGBT followers here at BSN. It's just a jest but it's interesting to see it come out into play when we put a game with a diverse fanbase together. Maybe that's why there is no peace here on BSN.

Of course it is not always the case since there are just as many shallow women as there are men, at least when it comes to look. Although in general, you see far more conventionally good-looking girls with less than stellar looking guys than the other way around. Is it money? Fame? Love? No way we can know for sure, but it's still interesting to see how evolution shapes our way of thinking. I'm sure there are also society pressure for guys to have trophy wife, so it could also play a role in it somehow.

She looks like a little tigress now! I love her new look. Way better than her da2 look by far. OP is snortin some strong lyrium to think she looks worst in her better current form. If they change anything to her, I hope its minor. She reminds me of the girl in Man of Steel a little, which would be her RL counterpart. She was gorgeous...

Well, I would eventually romance her in one of my playthroughs (if possible). Mainly because she's written by Mr. Gaider and seems to be a strong, interesting female character.

Ah, you discovered it. We actually did prettier versions of Cassandra and Morrigan, and the new engine spat them back out and said, "What do you think you are? BF4?" Goddamn capricious game engines, man.

I actually took this to Matt Goldman, our Art Director, and said, "New engine aside, couldn't you at least have made Cassandra and Morrigan look exactly like they did before? They were universally pretty back then. Everyone on our forums thought so, even from the first screenshots. And now..."

And he wept, man. He wept.

Tsk. Crunch is hard on artists.

This made my day.  You sir, win the internet.

Oh. Funny thread.

Well. Lady gamer popping in to say hooray for wide representation of normal looking female faces in games.

Not that I'd call Cassandra's face "normal." She's clearly gorgeous. (In my opinion.)

You have warped perceptions if you believe Cassandra isn't beautiful just because she doesn't fit into your tiny view of what gives you a boner. Cassandra is frakking beautiful.

The problem is that it doesn't look like a woman that's ready to make me a dinner, after raising my children all day, and is eager to have her perfectly manicured, perfumed and willing body ready for my every need in the evening.

This woman looks like she does something with her life that isn't being a trophy for some dude.

This... not overly sexualized ****s... is a strong woman.

I think the bigger problem with her face is that it's white. And it's not supposed to be.

That's a weird double standard that I don't think male characters are subjected to.

Oh, don't give me that bulls***.

There are hundreds of threads dedicated to Varric, Cullen, and other male characters.

Not to start an arguement or even continue on discussion of the subject, because Gaider has already replied to my post quite resonably and people have moved on, but for clarifications sake—and in my own defence—you clearly misunderstood my post.

I didn't mean that male character aren't subjected to the same sort of critique as female characters, I meant that it's accepted and thought of as okay that male characters are subjected to it.

Someone could make a post saying they don't find Varric sexually attractive, and people may disagree with that assessment, but no one would say there's anything inherently wrong with judging him on his sex appeal and finding him lacking.

Based on posts I've read in the past on this forum, and other forums, and based on this thread, female characters get treated differently in that regard. Understandable, equality issues being what they are; I was simply pointing out what I saw as an obvious discrepancy between how male and female characters are viewed and judged, and how they're allowed to be viewed and judged.
