Kind of off topic, but I swear for a second I thought your avatar was Duncan. Your character looks just like him.

Brief edit: I think it's the beard.

the funny thing is i'm pretty sure this is a default too...

If short hair makes someone a man/manly then logic dictates that long hair automatically makes someone female so I have concluded that Geralt of Rivia, Khal Drogo, Gandalf, and Thor are all women. It makes perfect sense and they are all very feminine because long hair.

Its the combination of manly features and short hair.

Please tell me more about those manly features because I don't see them. I think your idea of whats manly and whats feminine is pretty messed up.

Indeed, I see no manly features. Aveline had some manly features and it worked fine, but I don't see manly features on Cassandra.

@Maria Caliban: Let's derail it.

Anders is a filthy terrorist Hitler-loving blood mage ghey!

Okay.. now you say.

He can't be black - because this is Europe-style! And... hmm... no voiced protagonist, cause immersion!

Then I'll say:

Good endings are for stupid ninny heads, but dark edginess is for lame-o goth-kid wanna bes!

Then you say:

Star Trek is better than Star Wars!

Aveline didn't have any features I'd consider manly either, if you're hinting on her physique thats the build of a warrior which has nothing to do with her gender or her feminism. If a strong physique is a sign of manliness than most men aren't very manly.

Truth is, men which are too insecure to deal with a female character that is strong mentally and physically find them unattractive.

I do not get how some people keep calling her manly and saying she looks like a man. How? How is she that unfeminine to some people? There is absolutely no way I could mistake her for a man.

Will someone please explain this to me? Seriously, I really would like to know.

I am attracted to women who are very feminine.
This is a woman I find unattractive.
Therefore, this woman looks like a man.

A tragedy in the offing, clearly.

You know not every woman is attractive, that doesn't mean they look like men, but Cassandra does look like a man. When I first seen her I didn't kop on it was supposed to be Cassandra, I thought to myself what with the ugly looking dude.

Please, have you're Eye's checked.

This is Cassandra in DA2

img34.imageshack.us/img34/3712/cassandra4.jpg

Now look at the DA:I version:

media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/featured/electronic-arts2012/bioware/dragonage/Cassandra61081913.jpg

Even worse, look at the Kotaku video here at 12:41

http://kotaku.com/30...5108?autoplay=1

Cassandra allready looked perfectly fine, why turn her into an abomination? Please tell me this is a rushed version of some horrible placeholder :( (Edit: I mean come on, she doesent even look remotely like herself)

indeed

for me returning characters shown to us up to now (december 2013) - with the notable exception of Varric Tethras - look like someone has done some redecorating with a sledge-hammer and iron-gloved fists (!)

i mean:

yeah, people complained about characters being redesigned before, but IMHO (at least as far as i can remember) that was because the designers didn't stick with the original looks and went with something they though prettier (like giving Ashley from Mass Effect bigger breasts, a plastic-surgery doll-like face and a tighter non-practical outfit or the like), but now they are going the other way round (hell, i didn't like those pretty-fications much, but i didn't complain (!) but this...*shakes his head*) and making characters look uglier?

WHY?

Sorry, but Morrigan looks beautiful in DA:O and Cassandra from DAII was not ugly either, so why demolish them like that? (that's to me like someone firing rockets and artillery-shells into Mount Rushmore because he thinks the US-President-Heads carved into the mountain look "too pretty"...i just hate it)

And - do me a favour will you? - don't tell me: The new engine can't handle their looks or something like that (i play a lot of BF4 and that engine can do good looking faces (even on the non-descript player characters from Multi-Player!!!))

i hope they change those faces again (it is no game-breaker for me, but i don't like it much either!)

greetings LAX

Or Cassandra simply looks like a guy.
Just because women are strong mentally and physically doesn't mean they need to look like a guy.

Hm.- Short stature, long hair and a massive cleavage! Now it all makes sense....

Ah, you discovered it. We actually did prettier versions of Cassandra and Morrigan, and the new engine spat them back out and said, "What do you think you are? BF4?" Goddamn capricious game engines, man.

I actually took this to Matt Goldman, our Art Director, and said, "New engine aside, couldn't you at least have made Cassandra and Morrigan look exactly like they did before? They were universally pretty back then. Everyone on our forums thought so, even from the first screenshots. And now..."

And he wept, man. He wept.

What about Babylon 5?

When they announced they were using a different game engine for DA:I I knew the characters would look different so that hasn't bothered me. Generally with recurring characters in games they look different anyway due to increases in graphics (or the previously mentioned different engine) and what not, so it's never bothered me. All the returning characters we've seen so far have been obvious to me who they are. I like Cassandra's appearance, I just hope she yells bull**** about something Varric says at some point in the game.

The real test, I think, will be what Alistair looks like (if he does appear, fairly safe bet I'd say). Everyone seemed to hate how he looked in DA2, if they don't like his DA:I appearance tears of blood will be shed and I will laugh like a supervillain.

The majority likes the new Cassandra, only a few wish to alter it, for a lack of a better term, drastically.

I, for one, would like to Cassandra to appear more feminine just because I want her to look like pretty.

But I'm not going to push it, because as I said, the majority likes the new Cassandra, and I'd rather not receive unnecessary criticisms for wanting something that's outside the majority's preferences.

I understand if the new design isn't to your liking but I don't see how anyone could find her downright ugly, at worst she could be downgraded to plain. Also while she's not a delicate waif, a strong jaw and a short haircut doesn't make her look manly.

I don't honestly care how she looks, but she does look like a guy. I also wouldn't say majority.
