This is what the next-gen games should be. Heavily story-driven no matter the genre. Based on very interesting and important ideas. Made with excellent production quality.

Killzone: Shadow Fall has all of this. It's based on thoughts about wars, what actually cause them, how easy is to start them, how hard is to stop them, and what role pride and fear have in all of this. It has interesting scenario full of unexpected turn of events. The characters in this story look truly alive. The world looks vast and beautiful even through the gameplay leads us through the very small playable areas (stunning dynamic backgrounds do exactly what they were designed for). The gameplay itself utilizes diverse and interesting mechanics. Sounds and music are truly great.

The new standards were set. And I really doubt many devs will be able to produce such amazng games... I really hope BioWare will be among them.

The story is great. You will like it for sure... if you like serious stories based on serious philosophical questions. I have to admit that sci-fi drama is not for everyone.

Well I haven't played it yet so I guess I can't judge until I get a PS4.

I hate to be that guy, but how is the gameplay? Is it something I could just as easily watch on youtube or watch a friend play and get the same experience that I would by playing it?

Core gameplay is very similar to DE:HR. Enemies have line of sight and scripted behavior. You can sneak around and kill the enemies from behind, crash the walls to catch the enemies by surprise, find hidden passages to avoid contact, or you can just go forwards by strength and use covers to avoid damage. Plus you have a drone that will obey your commands and help you in many different tasks.

Also the game has different gameplay mechanics like flying in zero gravity, free falling, climbing, and scanning. Protagonist also has an ability similar to Adrenaline Rush from ME2 and ME3.

You have no idea what are you talking about.
And this game definitely deserves #2 in my top 5.

Sounds like it'd be worth playing through.

Really? The consensus seems to be that this game is nothing more than mediocre which isn't surprising since it is after all just Killzone which was never very good.

This would make more sense if it was a game people on xbox would actually want like say Uncharted instead of Sony's washed up "me too" scifi shooter.

It's a shame the stealth mechanics are lacking

The story is ****.

No really, I've actually played this one, it is nothing to shout about, your standard FPS set piece drivel that's really no different to Call of Duty or Battlefield.

I mean, it gets points for having gameplay that's that little bit deeper than your standard CoD run and gun, with a little stealth and puzzle work, and some segments which really break up the monotony of gunning endless mooks down by opening up the environment with the use of a zip line or zero gravity, and a drone which makes pretty good use of the PS4's touch pad, but it's not anything we've not seen before. If you've played Battlefield, if you've played any Halo game, you've experienced everything Shadow Fall has to offer in the gameplay department, and the story, whilst starts off with a bit of intrigue, devolves pretty swiftly.

Sure, the graphics are amazing, but amazing graphics are its only noteworthy feature, and do not suddenly turn a mediocre to half decent FPS into some new standard. I didn't come away from it thinking that all games must now have this level of graphics, I'm quite happy going back to older games for a good story and some good gameplay.

Nothing special, basically. If you have a PS4, buy it, but it's not worth buying a PS4 for.

I don't think so.

There's nothing impressive about Shadow Fall aside from visuals and graphics.

Well that's all good Seival, but the stealth mechanic is still lacking compared to other FPS

The story is mediocre, the characters aren't interesting, the protagonist is talking version of a silent yes man

I personally like the Killzone series, but Shadow Fall suffers from wasted potential, pacing problems because it's a PS4 launch title

Didn't you know that's all that matters? Even the story of a video game is elevated to new heights because of impressive visuals.

Generic FPS gameplay? WHO CARES!? THIS GAME IS EYE PORN! 11/10!

I guess that means Battlefield 4 has one of the best campaigns of all time, ha!
