So, you can recognise only the questions asked directly, in some dialogue or VO? Ideas behind story events are completely invisible for you?... Why do I even bother replying to this? I'm afraid ME or K:SF stories are just overcomplicated for you.

Fear not! I will return to LOTR for it is at my level of comprehension. Forever will I bet stuck with novels meant for 12 year olds!

Oh look, another 80 page Sevial thread xD

How do you do it?!

at's why Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter are just a fictional advantures for 12-years-old kids,
while Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, or Mass Effect are great and very well told serious stories with meaning.

You have physically hurt me with that statement.

Súlon gwanna nîf gín! Gen hedithon min noer Orodruin!

What can change the nature of a man?

Mass Effect DID NOT ask this.

That's Lord of the Rings and now Planescape: Torment you've insulted.

Do you seek to pain me further? Do you enjoy such malice?

Please, stop... :o

I mean, damn, wtf Seival? We kinda agreed a little on Beyond (at least insofar as that it IS a videogame and not horrible), and now you're ****ting on stuff like Torment, LotR etc, and call people stupid for not liking Mass Effect 3 again. I genuinely thought there could be a fresh start for us outside the ME3 boards, but this...?

You poor misguded fool! Seival has spent time in a mental institution, institutionalised for the belief that he was Commander Shepard after being arrested for attempting to over throw Valdamir Putin, who was actually Reaper indoctinated like Illusive Man. Trying to find rationality in the insane will drive you insane, save yourself!

Comrade Seival prefers pretty, pretty graphics than anything else.

Why should I rethink the list of questions that I've seen behind the story events so clearly?

You said ME3 ending and ME story in general didn't force players to think and explore the very important thoughts and ideas? You probably forgot all those countless morality-based holywars occured in ME3 section of this forum over the last 1.5 years.

As I said, simply mentioning something doesn't force a player to think about it. The game doesn't actually explore a lot of the ideas on your list.

Star child claims that organics and machines will always end up fighting and that's about it. It's even harder to take him seriously if I just got done making peace between the Geth and the Quarians, because then the game has very clearly shown that star child is wrong.

The internet having arguments about it doesn't make it deep and philosophical either. The internet has morality arguments for just about everything. The WoW forums do it all the time, and as I recall in your last thread proclaiming a game was the future of gaming you said that WoW had a terrible story that was not deep or philosophical.

Explores, and quite enough for me to recognize the questions I mentioned and think about them for considerable amount of time. I believe that time I spent on playing ME Trilogy is almost equal to the time I spent thinking about ideas behind the story.

And by the way, I believe that Battle for Rannoch proves the Catalyst was right. Why? We both know that peace is a thing that cannot last forever while there are still so many differences in the world. Let's pay our attention not on the possible fact of Shepard calming down both sides, but on the fact of the war on Rannoch itself. The war happened after all the warnings both sides had, and under the Reaper threat. And how often the history will repeat itself? Untill one of the sides will gone forever? Is it possible to stop this from happening once and for all? What exactly causes the war? How to prevent it?... Not an easy questions. And very interesting questions to think about...

...K:SF also asked these questions, and did it in really amazing way. One of the main reasons why I love the story so much.

And I can't even comment on Killzone at all - I've played very few FPS games in general, and none on console. Just not my kind of game, also I suck at playing them.

Well, I know that my opinion is quite uncommon among some groups of people here on BSN, but I can't do anything about it. I'm expounding my honest thoughts and doing it without any intent to harm somebody's feelings.

No one suck playing FPS on a console. It's just a matter of habit. The more you play - be better you become. Personally, I reached the point where you start to consider gamepad as the best possible game controller. I see mouse and keyboard as something completely outdated for gaming... One advice for you, if you will ever want to give it another try: if you have terrible difficulties using gamepad in FPS or TPS - invert Y axis. That helped me a lot, when I first started.

The reason I ask this, is because those two indie games moved me more than a lot of "AAA" titles ever would and in relation to your argument about budget and what needs to be put in a game to make it meaningful or philosophical -tell me this isn't meaningful - oh wait - it didn't have voice acting.

Nope, and never planning to try.

Only AAA.
Only PS3 and PS4.
Only great stories with best possible visual part.
Multiplayer competitive or cooperative games sometimes, but also AAA-only and PS3/PS4-only.

Wait.  So you're not open-minded then?.  Gotcha.

Journey is a PS3 exclusive and probably better than most AAA titles released in a long time and it's a two hour experience.  And here - Lacks meaning cause no voice acting right?  Lack story cause no "visual" style up to your par, right?

I'm arguing your point that only AAA titles can achieve philisophical meanings throughout those experiences, which is obviously false.

Shiit, that breaking through the glass shows more emotion than Jodie screaming "Momma No" at the end of Beyond Two Souls.

"One of" is not definitive. You just said you only play games with the best visuals.

Honestly Seival, I try to understand your perspective, but the fact that you choose to ignore other games that are just as or in certain cases, more viable in what games can achieve, just... I don't know - I guess I find it amusing that you push for so much, yet lack so much wisdom and value in what other games have to offer. Its sad really.

Kudos for your patience and kindness but it's time you graduate to "For the lulz".
