Even worse than Knack?

Knack cutscenes weren't cringeworthy and the gameplay was fun enough (atleast more fun than a mediocre CoD wannabe).

Knack seems like the perfect sort of game just to kill a couple of hours.  I'll have to look up Resogun and Contrast.

Nevermind, I thought Contrast sounded familiar, it's also on Steam.

Knack's only problem is that it drags on too long and co-op is unbalanced

I watched Angry Joe play Knack a bit, doesn't seem like the other player really does much other than find trinkets for Knack.  Still, seems pretty entertaining if you're having a slow day.

Actually Knack is basically a glass cannon regardless of how big he can get from the relics while the other player is basically a tank because they can constantly regain health

Well, that's a bit silly.

It really is, makes no sense for them to do that

I guess a player can get past that if they enjoy the game, might see it as a challenge.  Also, the way Knack runs when he's little reminds me of these for whatever reason

What is really Next-Gen- Seival, what is it, really? Basing off your arguments, I'd say PC gaming has been doing the whole "Next-Gen" phase for a long time.

Next-gen means using all of the most recent tech achievements applicable to game development in a game development process. Only console exclusives and cross-platform games, developed mainly for the consoles (but also have PC ports), are following the next-gen ideology. PC-exclusive game development has stuck somewhere in the previous century, and refuses to move forwards.

Past century?

Refusal to move forward?

Video games have only been popular since the 70s, and consoles hold back PCs graphically. I mean, name me a platform other than a PC that can run ME3 on 60 FPS. Go ahead, I'll wait.

PC developers can make 100 K:SFs, and the PC fans of those games can push those games to limits that console developers can only dream of.

This is coming from a 100% console player, too.

What PC game development can do is not what it's going to do. For now PC "great capabilities" are only a myth and theories about available hardware. While Sony releases The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, and Killzone: Shadow Fall, PC-exclusive development releases another bunch of MMOs with outdated graphics and the same grinding/farming gameplay.

PC devs have no desire to optimize their games and use all PC capabilities. This is just their philosophy. They consider better hardware characteristics only as an excuse for more lazy development. "All this modern junk will eat our unoptimized code easily, and we don't care the project will run smoothly only on low-to-mid settings". Even if PC hardware would be 10 times better than what consoles have, PC devs wouldn't use even 25% of its potential.

Devs working for Sony are known for optimizing their games for the given hardware. That's why Beyond designed for 10-years-old-PS3 looks much better than any modern PC game. Sony PS4 uses top-notch AMD hardware, and believe me, they will use the hardware by 100%. Sony standards of quality for AAA games are incredibly high.

...About ME3. You do realize that it was a game developed mainly for PC, just like all previous ME games? It wasn't optimized for consoles well enough. You better remember TW2, and how it lagged on top-end PCs back in days it was released. It's good that most new AAA cross-platform games will be developed mainly for consoles and only then ported to PCs. And of course, it's really great that Sony will please us with more exclusives.

This is the type of post that makes me wish this was IGN. I wouldn't do my own disgust justice without some sentence enhancers. Well, I could just say "F it" and go off on you like I want anyway but 'tis the season to not get permabanned.

Well that's blatantly false ME1 was an xbox exclusive before being ported to PC. Xbox continued to be the primary development platform hence it was "better with kinect". The PS3 was the only place ME2 had major loading issues since again they were dealing with a port.

You consider time and effort put into WoW and it's expansions to be a form of laziness? I dislike WoW immensely, but they did change gaming to an extent, regardless if you view this as a positive or negative impact. The original Crysis, again - don't need to explain. The horror genre turning into something laughable till Amnesia came crawling around the corner to give it's spirit back, which is now leading into exciting development of SOMA.

Should I even mention Half-Life or are the graphics and engine too mainstream?

Source Engine, Source Engine everywhere!

At this point, I've got to ask: why was this thread left open again?

You do realize that Xbox is just a "PC with gamepad" type of console, yes?

This.

And even if this thread gets locked, Seival will just create another one just as soon as another David cage "video game" or a PS3 game w/ shiny graphics comes out, and the cycle will continue ad infinitum or if Sony goes out of business.
