Killzone: Shadow Fall... Wow, the first next-gen game has set really high standards of quality.

I'm guessing it's because of the scarcity of other unstable materials on Helghan.Seboist wrote...
Killzone series has always had a retarded plot, like why would a civilization capable of interplanetary space travel like the Helghast need to steal nukes from the ISA(in KZ: Liberation)? Couldn't they just, you know, build them themselves?

Oh god don't remind me, Stahl became Cobra Commander in terms of ham, not to mention Earth is the dominant superpower of human space.Cthulhu42 wrote...
My favourite part of KZ3 was when they hilariously tried to raise the stakes by pulling out a random ALL-OUT ASSAULT ON EARTH.

I didn't get any strong feelings about K:SF from reviews and youtube too. I only got a feeling that I must try the first nex-gen game anyway. And I knew that reviews and letsplays are unreliable sources of info.
I don't really a feeling that I need to try next gen games unless they're impressive next gen games, which I'm not being impressed by what I see with Killzone.
In a perfect world I could try every single game and judge it based it on having actually played it, but this isn't a perfect world and I'm not going to spend money on every game that somebody suggests I try.
The game needs to give a good impression, either from reviews, lets plays, or trying the game in a demo/at a friends house. Killzone is not doing for me right now in terms of gameplay or story.

Until games get the graphic levels of say, the super high def cgi video game trailers, or this CGI anime movies like advent children or space pirate captain harlock, I don't think I'll be very impressed or astounded with a game to even consider their graphics a qualifier in judging their quality.
And seeing as how the rest of the games aspects fall apart rather easily, I would say this game is most certainly not a good one.

You know the graphics on this game look kinda...meh. Lots of visual glitches and clipping in the videos in the OP, and nothing looks truly spectacular and awesome looking in design or display, it's all just dull and somewhat dated looking.

Oh no, I'm totally blown away by the graphics that look lifted straight from black ops 2. And the random blue blobs of light totally don't make everything else look really stupid and glitchy.

I wouldn't say the responses to Seival have reached quite that level of vitriol yet. Responses to David on the other hand, they're pretty close.Jozape wrote...
The way people respond to Seival with such fervor reminds me of the discussions people used to have with Borschtbeet/Busomjack. He was much funnier than Seival though.

I had a feeling you were possessed. But it's something I hoped to not correctly guess. You probably typed that "graphics that look straight lifted out of Black Ops 2" line straight-faced. Got me wondering if you had a few too many that's been laced.Darth Brotarian wrote...

ISA: Hey, sorry about that whole "attempted genocide" thing. As a gift, we'll give you a large chunk of Vekta to live on. I'm sure the Vektan people will be totally chill with that and you will find it in your hearts to forgive us.
Isn't the whole start of Shadow Fall?

Possessed or not, I still mean that. These graphics don't look that great. With the level of technology that's developed, both call of duty and battlefield managed to have better looking graphics then this does. Not just because of how glossy they can make everything, or how much tricks they do with the lighting and ****, but in basic aesthetics and deisgn choices. That whole falling through the sky portion of the gameplay for example, that happened at the very beginning of black ops 2, same style of controls and "oh man look how close you can get to things" and they both, to me, looked the same in terms of what they did with the CGI.
To me, it is not impressive.

It just looks like you took the bottom one and added a few new sparkly mods onto it to give it HD graphics and sci-fi skins.

I expect a huge leap when looking at these games. Like, the jump between DA2 and Inquisition type graphical update. Anything else just seems lackluster.

That's because DA2 went from whatever it was using that didn't look amazing to Frostbite 3 which looks amazing. Killzone's engine (whatever it's called) has always looked solid. Shadow Fall just looks like a natural evolution of an already good-looking series. The time for getting your mind-blown is almost gone, if it isn't already. I honestly hope this is the last console generation ever.Darth Brotarian wrote...
Alright, maaaaaaaaaaaybe black ops 2 was a bit harsh. It still doesn't look nearly as good a jump then it should.

I guess it all depends on how quickly we hit the wall with silicon based technology and how long it takes to adapt diamonds as their replacement.
