so, in one of the interviews recently the devs said that some companion from ME would be recruitable in ME2 also adding a "more than you know" to the sentence (Javier if you wanna linkify...).
so, unless they were considering us stupid enough to still think Garrus was not recruitable then that means another character is making a return...
we saw that whoever you did not virmire will probably be captured by the collectors so maybe by the end of the suicide mission we get to free them and they can join ala Loghain minus the choice
or (and here it gets crazy).....just maybe Legion is the person you Virmired...brought back like shepard by the geth in an effort to understand the human equation...just not as good sn outcome as with shepard....I know crazy .... I was bored but it would be interesting.

Garrus and Tali have been as good as confirmed (Tali for sure), so the cat has been out of the bag for quite some time.

and no this article was from way after we knew Garrus + Tali were in, even after the whole "archangel video" faux pas that basically revealed garrus as a squadmate (Ithought I was clear about it but...)

With a lot of the dev quotes we've seen and the marketing of the sequel in general I think it is pretty clear they consider all of us to be rather stupid. I don't think he was speaking of anyone except Garrus.

Some review confirmed that only 2 squad mate from ME1 are recruitable which is Tali and Garrus
