Anything we have officially released and is covered in interviews with staff, videos, etc or is on the Mass Effect website is fine.

That's crazy, Chris.  That means anyone hoping to avoid spoilers can't visit the forums.  Until release, they could have just avoided watching the videos or following th media coverage, but they could still come here and learn about game mechanics and changes to the structure of the game.

But no longer.  You've basically given blanket permission to undo all that forethought.

You've made a terrible decision.  What makes something a spoiler has absolutely nothing to do with what information has already been released by other means.  If it happens in the game, it's a spoiler.  The names of the squadmates are spoilers.

Think it through.  Your definition of spoiler is nonsensical.

So I just read the Mass Effect 2 update on Penny Arcade, That sort of sucks!

Dragon Age was great, and for the most part I've just been rolling my eyes at some of the people angry over the delayed content (Return to Ostagar) and any other complaints, but missing the mark on information that could be very important in regards to purchasing is a pretty big mistake, (especially when it gets posted on the front of a high traffic site like Penny Arcade).

I'm glad Chris tried to fix the situation as soon as he did, and that Penny Arcade was quick to post the error, but I'm still thinking it was a bad deal.

On the slightly brighter side.... it sounds like the ability to choose your ME1 major character plot decisions for a new ME2 game might be coming eventually?

I am so very proud of Bioware. They have created a brilliant and atmospheric game that in my opinion is far superior to gears of war. But there is still great room for improvement. I suggest for Mass Effect 3 Bio Ware push the boundries of game play further

1. Increase conversation gameplay. The player should be penalized for having an illogical conversation. Forexample, If i ask Merinda how she is doing and ask her a question that is similar or the same, she sould either ignore me or question if I am ok, This would  hurt my relationship with her. Players should be required to ask not only smart questions, but the right ones.

2. Add Gameplay that goes beyond pure shooting. Mass Effect is an rpg after all. Add espionage, missions that are affected by weather and lighting conditions, etc.

3.improve graphics on some of the characters faces. The main cast look great but everyone else has a very fake, plastic look about them.

4.More "Avatar" like experience on exotic worlds. LOL. I want to see Shepard go to an alien world and fall in love with the scenery and its people. Make the game even more immersive.

5. Finally, give even more animations to shepard. I think this is one of the number one things that many developers fail to realize or cannot do properly. (not Bioware). They need to add physics and weight to the characters. Shepard in Mass 2 has weight and moves nicely, but why not add animations of him being thrown against walls, through glass, etc. This is the next generation! Why are 3rd person characters not moving and acting in dynamic and exciting ways?

The worst example of the ridigity I speak of is Resident Evil 5. The characters in that game are too stiff. Do you hear me developers??!

Why are people finding it so hard to NOT understand what the title of this forum says and what this topic implies?

Edit: Not referring to any post in this topic, just the general state of the forum

That would require they abandon the dialogue wheel so we could have some idea what Shepard is going to say.

Having Shepard say the wrong thing is punishment enough.

Actually, they'd have to get rid of the entire tree structure of conversation.  There are a number of times where you have to repeat parts of conversations in order to get to nodes that will provide you with the option to ask further questions (or make further comments) about something someone says.

Spike Dies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IUY!IU@Y!

Why God Why!!!! He had so much to not live for!

See this is why I had Joss make me special "all happy" box set. Tara, Willow, and Oz live together in a big pink house, right next to Xander and Anya across from Angel/Buffy/Spike/Cordelia's place. Giles has adopted them all andcurrently has an apartment across town.

As you can tell my ME2 has yet to arrive. *sigh*

I agree, the whole clips idea is BS. I love Bioware and Mass Effect 1 was one of the best games I've ever played but the decision to change this game from the already successful Shooter/RPG to just another shooter game really sucks IMO.

If I wanted to play just another shooter game then I would have bought Gears 2 or COD4. Mass Effect 1 was awesome..... why change it so much???

Been playing the game for about 12 hours now and love every minute of it. The thing I like the most about it is that even if you played ME1 and are already familiar with the ME universe, everything still seems brand-new. I was worried this game wouldn't have that same effect on the player, but it really does.

The music in Afterlife is awesome btw.

I now the game gives you a new look to everything but at the same time if you played ME1 you now where you are. And the Citadel it beautiful … But it’s very limited, I only could move in the C-sec are. And the story is getting better and better every second …. I don’t want it to END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in the forum yesterday and I said that I did not like ME2. I stated it does not play like 1 and I was furious. I WAS WRONG!!!!!!! I am a complete mooron. This is by far better than 1. I was in the zone last night. Were time and space were not relevant. And it was just the first 4 hours of the game!!!!!!!!!!!!. I love this game and would marry it if I could. I have to admit this is the first game I payed full price for since halo 3 and it is so worth it. Happy DAY!!!!!!!

quick question, is there a way to hide your character's helm like they did with ME1 ? I wouldn't use a helm if I didn't like the stats boost, however during conversations I like to see the characters' facial reactions. If this matter has already been addressed, I apologize for repetition, just didn't want to scroll through all the pgs.

Tried my own post for this, is the 360 update good to go or is it flawed? Given Bioware's track record recently I don't want to download it, unless it's safe.

edit: got an answer, majority says it's safe

Does anyone know if there is a way to download your Collector's Edition stuff with a direct Ethernet connection from the 360 to the modem?  I don't have a router, so I can't have my computer AND my 360 online at the same time...

so .. my gameplay experience so far in me2 has been.. i dont rly know what to call it. i spent a whole day trying to fix interraction issues, hoped for a patch or any info at all from bioware/ea but notta.
so far the game is basically unplayable because i cannot interact with anything, mouse movements are totally erratic at times....i just dunno what to say...kinda feel like i got robbed atm but hoping they will fix these issues asap.
