If you want your romances to be challenging, go on a real date. That **** is hardcore.

Hot nug-on-Cassandra action.
Today, Schmooples is a man (or woman?).

So out of curiosity, are the romance progessions about where you want them in terms of interactions required (number and quality)?
Yes! Perhaps a quiet dinner together with your LI somewhere.Medhia Nox wrote...
Not DA - but I actually liked sitting down to dinner with Kaidan.

Any headcanon I invented would be far better than the clumsy underwear scenes on the screen.

I certainly would not ask for less, but on the whole I was very pleased with Fenris's romance, especially with a mage character.
Although, I would like a hug or kiss interaction, available for all romances. Something small, but really amazing nonetheless.

Hell, I would kill for a bi or gay LI that would get me a roses. I always envied that facet of the Alistair romance.zMataxa wrote...

I never did that romance. Glad to hear. What about the others?
I can say Isabella felt a bit light. Leliana was excellent. So was Morrigan (f/f) with the help of a great mod.
Merril just met the min for me.
As for hug or kiss and other surprises on a steady basis....Oh hell YES!

If these romances never had sex cutscenes I would be perfectly happy. Any headcanon I invented would be far better than the clumsy underwear scenes on the screen. Plus - steamy lute music doesn't do much for me.
I would prefer more roleplaying scenarios where I could interact with the character.

I'd like to see things like this happen in a game.
I'd like to see a hero risk sacrificing love for duty - or suffer for risking duty for love - or any million combinations that have been at the very heart of literature since man first chipped into stone.
As they are now - they feel just like tacked on cheap titilation.

Or would you rather fade to black?

My version of a "Mature" game however - is when the romance is actually integrated into the story and a major part of the narrative.
Wynne's speech about love being inherently selfish and the Warden being greater than selfish desires really resonated with me - as, something similar (minus the Archdeamon, Darkspawn and Joining) really caused a rift in my own life and I made the "wrong" choice ultimately.

@eluvianix: Absolutely.
Though - of course, why anyone would romance a drunk is beyond me. *starts running*
Well if Bioware did go this approach, and the fanbase complained, too bad. I certainly won't shed tears over their supposed outrage and pain.zMataxa wrote...
That would be amazing.
Problem I forsee - is alot of their fanbase isn't as "mature" and go for the the quicker versions aka "cheap titilation". I realize the limits they are working under - so I appreciate the depth that they do offer for romances. I still get a sense of companionship so I wouldn't use the words "cheap titilation" myself.
But deeper more mature - Yeah - I'd support this 150%.
To me this is still underlines the need for Bioware to get creative and find a way to monetize mods - in a sort of similar way the Apple store monetizes apps.
