Well if Bioware did go this approach, and the fanbase complained, too bad. I certainly won't shed tears over their supposed outrage and pain.

So long as Buioware doesn't lose customers because they lose the interest of too many younger players.
Ya know, it would be so interesting to see the age demographic of Bioware fans.
I read that Game of thrones demographic was something like 58% male avg age 43 years and rest female age not revealed.

Considering how varied and diverse their community is, just by looking at these forums, I would bet the Bioware fan demographics are just varied and diverse.

You are on your way to greatness and great appreciation...if you have rogue's range of moves and stamina.

Or if you can do the electricity thing as a mage.
;)

In RL just stuck with whipping cream and chocolate and brandy.
It's an austere life compared to DAI.

I personally support romances that fit with the character personality and background. I hate the player sexual approach from DA2. All of a sudden everyone you can possibly have an relationship with shares the exact same sexual orientation? In Origins, it made sense, Alistair was raised in the Chantry so he is naturally very prude. While Zevran had an colorful life, and so he had very loose preferences. I just hope that in Inquisition the romancable companions have orientations that match with their personality and background.

How about the lord-to-his-lady "kiss"? ;)

Or lady-to-her-lady, of course.

So what is this exactly?? Inquiring minds wish to know.

My problem with this was that it can be literally five minutes after you kill off his first lover. Who needs a grieving period or anything?

That's a good point. I hadn't considered that before. In hindsight it's pretty obvious.

That's something I wonder about.
How reflective are these forums of the actual paying customers.
Is Bioware providing enterainment for alot of the more mature fantasy crowd?
Agruably, I would say it's very likely.
Anyway, don't want to OT this too much.

Didn't you read the rest of my post?

@plaintiff.  So out of curiosity, are the romance progessions about where you want them in terms of interactions required (number and quality)?

I'm pretty happy with how they worked out in DA2.

That said, the presence of gay romances is basically the only reason I started playing Dragon Age in the first place, so if they put more focus on them I wouldn't complain.

Silly me.  I thought that was a separate idea.

But how much more would be ok?  Before it takes away from the main focus of your game.
THe context for this being "easily bedded".

I don't know, and given that I find the "main focus" of Dragon Age pretty boring overall, I don't particularly care.

The context for this being "easily bedded".

This isn't helpful, I've already stated that I have no idea what "easily bedded" means in the context of a video game.

@plaintiff.
"Easily bedded" is a dynamic variable.
At best we would have to rely on "the romance player average" for a guideline.
Essentially, it would be the number of interactions of varying quality to arrive at the game flag of "bedding option" is now unlocked.

But since you don't care, that sorts that out.
I'd ask why you are here - but I'm not sure that would be a cheerful answer either.  Ahh well.

I joined after buying DA2, to get the free items.

I stuck around to participate in discussions about the romance mechanic, mostly because they inevitably devolve into cesspools of vile bigotry. I persist in the futile hope that the individuals I clash with will eventually either grow brains or die.

I certainly appreciate your persistent contributions to open-mindedness on many topics.
Which is why I was curious quite sincerely when I asked you those questions earlier.
I pop in and read when I have a moment fairly frequently even though I don't usually have time to post.
Ok.  I get your motives.  Thanks for clarification.
