@Lebdood: the Harry Potter books are FAR more advanced than many people give them credit for.  Her writing was deliberate - and that makes for an artist good at her craft.

Snape's use of Victorian flower language in the first book rather shocked me.

@zMataxa: Read the books - they're so much better than the movies.

The Potterverse is actually how I see Tevinter in many ways.

. Wait, what? Is this the whole "mages feel superior to nonmages" argument?

I don't really care to be perfectly honest. LIs are the least important part of the game for me.

I dunno... I do get my kicks from virtual relationships during my relationship off-seasons :P

Filthy muggles... or wait was it mud-bloods?

Yeah I meant no disrespect to J.K. Rowling. I just preferred Blizzard and DotA over Harry Potter book reading lol

My mother read Tolkien to me at bedtime, and Harry Potter was the first decent size book that I read. I have been a fantasy nerd from day one.

To be perfectly honest, my main priority is less trying to cure them and more to stop the disease from spreading.

If it's any consolation, I think you make a tangeable difference here at BSN.
Cheers.

I agree with this. Thank you Plaintiff. I wish you were more successful.

@eluvianix: Well - there's an element of that yes.

There's the Pure Bloods - there's how the Potterverse treats magical creatures - there's the specific mage families...

The Potterverse is NOT a kind and gentle place for anything non-wizard (and I mean - part of the magical world, and non-wizard).

In fact... it's kind of a theme in from start to finish.

Easy to translate.

Draco => dragon
Dormiens => dormir => sleep (in french)
nunquam => nun quam => no quand (when in french) => no time => never
titillandus => tittilate

Never tittilate a sleeping dragon.

(Sigh) It's a Harry Potter reference. Which went over everyone's heads....damn. I thought I was being clever with that one.:crying:

I got it.

One of the things I actually remember from Harry Potter...is that muggles are non magical folks and mud-bloods are wizards/witches with muggle parents.

Ah.

I got into the world of Azeroth. I played every Warcraft game ever released and was incredibly hooked to the setting.
Then I played World of Warcraft and proceeded to cry every time they butchered the lore for the sake of gameplay.

That's the one thing with video game lore. Gameplay trumps it every time.

That's where books shine :P

I'm just TOO visual most of the time.
Prefer movies even though they aren't usually as good as the books.
I admit, I did read first two books which was unusual for me.
And she is an amazing writer.  Sucks you in so fast.

I personally support romances that fit with the character personality and background. I hate the player sexual approach from DA2. All of a sudden everyone you can possibly have an relationship with shares the exact same sexual orientation? In Origins, it made sense, Alistair was raised in the Chantry so he is naturally very prude. While Zevran had an colorful life, and so he had very loose preferences. I just hope that in Inquisition the romancable companions have orientations that match with their personality and background.

But that's not how sexual orientation works, a character doesn't need a special personality and background to justify why they're not straight. If anything, we need more characters like Fenris and Merrill who are simply bisexual/playersexual/whatever without making a big fuss about it.

@Masterscribe.
I think Cassandra would be enjoying knocking you down a peg or two after that trumpet serenade. Her eyes did get twinkly, but Cassandra doesn't like her LI getting too cocky.
But it's gonna cost you - that DLC is $25 though even with 1,000 posts plus at BSN.
What ya gonna do ? :)

Tell her the truth. Bring some blood mages and rogue templars to justice.

Acknowledge her needs and desires.

Maybe shield bash some castle gates and lead soldiers into battle, in honor of her.

Once upon a time there was a user on BSN called Mohsen. He used to use the term "Pansexual" and he actually believed in it. His impression was really creepy.

So,I'm bisexual you against that too?
I don't see how being pansexual is "creepy"

Being bisexual doesn't make you special.

BTW pansexual is the creepiest thing on earth after "being chased by a savage Alien". Not only all kind of humans, searching for holes in the dead and maybe animals? Nuke this sh*t!

So the ability to love every possible combination and permutation of a person's sexual orientation and gender identity is creepy?

I wish we were all like that. We wouldn't mistreat anyone who wasn't like us because we'd all be the same.

Edit: Also I think you're confusing pansexuality for necrophilia and bestiality. Pansexuality is limited to human beings who are alive.

@Lebdood: We'd find "something" - there will always be an us and them.

Sorry for the *Renegade Punch!*

It's not so simple as "sameness" as there is no such thing.

We should find comfort in our differences, not seek to abolish our differences to find comfort.

No one is asking for special.  Just equal opportunity.

RE: Pansexual.  I take it you weren't fan of the Asari in Mass Effect?
That could be argued is a form of pansexual.  Sure some people can take it to arguably "extremes" because they are even more open-minded.
That's OK.  World will move on with or without your approvals, or mine.

Touche. Fair point. But it gets rather wearying to deal with idiots who call you creepy or disgusting or different on a daily basis.

I think that being like everyone else doesn't stop hate, and that we shouldn't wish anything but happiness on anyone else. And a world were everyone is like everyone sounds godawful.
