 Trying to get my rogue the best gear I can so far I've got

* T6 rose thorn- from the catche quest
* T7 crow dagger...I think the rune slot's glitchy?
* shadow of the empire armor
* key to the city
*harvest festival ring
* trickmaster boots or w/e they're called

That belt and that dagger I need are waaaaaay too pricey! How am I supposed to afford that? I beat Origins twice and never had nearly enough gold to get either item

Heck, I barely wanna pony up the dough to buy the felon's coat, but it's one of best pieces of rouge gear out there

Is there any way to like...steal the items?

You can either sell Potent Health Poultices to get the money or utilize the Unlimited Money glitch.
For the poultices, get someone to Herbalism 4 to make them. For Unlimited Money, put a item in Junk and press triangle and square at the same time. I use the Reaper weapon.

Oh I remember that glitch... I play on the 360 so... you give a pricey item to a vendor and hit two buttons right?

Right, you have to press at the same time though.

Thanks! I tried it, and it worked...it was nice having over 200 gold, only to drop it all on the dagger and armor....

still don't get why it's so pricey, sovereigns are really hard to come by, and I do nearly every single side quest in the game

You are not supposed to be able to buy everything.

The game isn't designed that you can buy every single piece of expensive equipment, however, you should be very easily able to buy 4 or 5 "expensive" (~100 gold) items without being DN, any glitches, crafting exploits or selling the reaper's cudgel. Which would include the rose's thorn, felon's coat and andruil's blessing as well as some nice kit for your other party members (veshialle and lifegiver for alistair, for example). So to not be able to outfit your rogue you have to have been very wasteful, or missing a bunch of quests that you don't think you are.

EDIT: Checking some of my endgame saves, you accrue about 1500 gold throughout a playthrough. So 5 expensive items is a lowball. My DW soloist finished with 700 gold in her pocket after buying knight-commander's plate, rose's thorn, andruil's, evon's, spellward and lifegiver.

Really? How did you do that? I just never seem to have enough gold until Awakenings.

He mentioned he soloed. if you do that, you can focus on buying gear for just one person rather than 8-9 companions. That makes the economic issues much easier. Keep in mind things get much more expensive in Awakenings though.

That's how much I have left over in a solo, but after (say) far song, staff of the magister lord, veshialle and felon's coat I'd still have about 200 sovereigns left. Which would be plenty to add alistair, leliana and morrigan/wynne to the party. A lot of the other best equipment is found rather than bought, especially with the DLCs.
