Except it has been stated you will be tal-vashoth, not Qunari.DarthSliver wrote...
I will be playing as a Qunari using the role of Inquistor to weaken Thedas for a Qunari invasion via mustering the Theda's armies against the Demonic forces. As I have all their armies in another location the Qunari will simultaneously take over the major strongholds that were left defenseless/ greatly weaken defense. It will be a glorious day for all Qunari.
But I do have one issue with all that, not sure the Qun will accept a Qunari Female Mage.
What if I don't want to become an Inquisitior?

As for the OP wanting to become a cheesemaker, Bioware should create a fun-ending like that and give you a minigame as a farmer, cheesemaker or fisherman. That lasts for 10 minutes until a demon rat kills you as a cheesemaker, a demon cow kills you as a farmer or a demon fish kills you as a fisherman as a direct result of saying NO to your destiny. WIth the game over screen and all.

I still wish there'd been a scene in DA:O where you could refuse to drink from the Joining cup, and Duncan would shank you.

Then there wouldn't be a game.
Sure there would. You just start over, or reload.
I'm just saying a death scene would have been cool. I'm not going to touch the idea of wanting to play the game as a non-Warden, non-Inquisitor, or a Hawke who decided not to leave Ferelden after all. That wouldn't be 'no game', that'd be 'different game'.

What would have been the point.Obviously your character has to agree to Duncan's wishes to progress the game.:innocent:.

I'm afraid you're stuck in some role just like the Warden is the Warden, Hawke is the Champion, you're Commander Shepard in Mass Effect, you're Revan in Knights of the Old Republic, etc.

There was a bit in The Witcher 2 where you either anger Iorveth or refuse to go along with him and an archer shoots you dead.
At first I was like, "great, now I have to reload," but then I think I ended up appreciating those moments.
It's like in Gone Home. Well. I can't explain without spoilers, but I thought there was a really obvious alternate way to end that game that the devs didn't provide.

I'm planning on buying the game because I not only invested $$$ into the series but also emotionally invested into the game so telling me not buy the game is irreverent because that is not an option that I can take.
Then you'll just have to play as the Inquisitor.

To be fair, Battlefeild isn't an RPG.

Or if you are going to buy the game you can manage your expectations, realize that your character will be the Inquisitor following a linear story with limited choices just like the Warden and Shepard in other Bioware games and be much happier with your purchase.
Of course you can fail to do the above, buy the game, and be immensely disappointed and frustrated when you play it (this will probably happen to the people who think they will be able to remake the setting as they desire).
