People don't want to stop making wild assumptions about what the Inquisitor will and/or will not be, I see.

Darrah, among others, have said explicitly that you can be something of the opposite of a Chantry supporter, if you so choose.

What if I want to become the leader of the Mages on the ongoing conflict war between the seekers/templars.. Will we have the opportunity to choose this option, and give the Inquisitor postion to one of our companions like Cassandra?

To bloody bad, you'll be the inquisitor and you'll damn well like it. You'll work for the chantry and help them to crush all the mages and every time you pick a dialogue option supporting the mages your character will instead commit suicide.

No you won't.

Afraid so, you'll be helping them rebuild into a force to be reckoned with.. You will make them much more powerful than they initially were so much so that all the Monarchies of thedas will be abolished and The chantry will control everything and everyone. And upon discovery all mages will be executed. All thanks to your Inquisitor, you have no choice in the matter im afraid

No, you won't.

I don't think the guy is being serious about supporting the chantry. Pretty sure he's just trolling.

But I plan on buying the game :) I just want more options to choose from, not being force to do something that I don't want to do.

Then you're not being at all realistic in your expectations.  Bioware's entire MO is about writing a tight, linear story and assigning you a role as a central character. You're basically asking them to write an entirely new story as an A/U to the first one, from start to finish, and weave it into the game as a wholly alternate path to the main story.  Surely you can see how unreasonable that is.  It's vastly more work and complication than providing a small number of branching quests with alternate outcomes that nevertheless lead toward a singular point.  There's a limit to how much variation they can provide in the main narrative and still be able to tell the story they aim to tell.

I was reading the article in the PC Gamer I think it was not long ago. Pretty much, you are an Inquisitor and you can go and help who you wanted to without being beholden to them (as essentially you are above them as an independant faction).

So you can choose to help who you want, but it sounds alot like how they handled ME3 with getting factions to work at least with you if not together to fight a larger evil threat.

I think the potential for this discussion is done. If the game gives you those kinds of options, great. If not, prepare to be disappointed. That's about the long and short of it.

End of line.
