So the talking sword is a staple of the fantasy setting, Well how about Bioware give us a talking knife? I mean for two games now this guy has been the one and only way to cinematically kill all those pesky NPC's. What self respecting spirit/demon would not want to posses this killer among killers!
In all seriousness if Bioware took the time I think they could add something like this and make it very epic and funny. Do I think it will happen? No do I think it should? Yes.
Veil torn, demons on a rampage, spirits run amuck... Murderknife gets its own spirit/demon?

Have you guys played Dragon Age? It is full of comic relief and "funny" things. Is a talking murder knife going a bit far? Probably but come one...
