Personally I find Sabotage to be way too much fun to miss out on. Never get tired of seeing a hacked turret kill its Engineer, an Atlas firing a rocket that results in friendly fire, hacking Geth Prime Pets and just watching Geth in general get all kinds of confused.

Sabotage is also a "get out of jail free" card for Pyros, which can be tremendously helpful during pugs (for instance, to stop that pyro from stomping the guy he just downed, and allow you to safely revive him with the hacked pyro "guarding" you). Or to give your team the 5 seconds they need to escape the revive cycle in front of a turret.

It may be a circumstantially useful power, but when it's useful, it tends to be very useful. Or at least hilarious.

A lot of these suggestions for weapons are meaningless because the OP said they just got the game. What are the odds that they are going to have the Venom or the Javelin?

My current sniper bulid

It's pretty simple : Cloak / Sabotage / Shoot.

My previous shotgun bulid

OFC , you can take the Claymoar/Piranha/Reegar instead.
Stickies for faster boss destruction & tight crowds (especially when you wanna revive a downed teammate and there are 2 Dragoons dancing over his dead body), also for Phantom crowd control.

I like her with shotguns personally. Claymore, Crusader, Wraith, Raider. You get great use out of all her powers and it's not like she gives a damn about weight.

You could always go with the SR build and skip stickies but they're really good at slaughtering armor.

I see alot of suggestions for backfire 4b on Sabotage. I thought that was broken. Did BW get around to fixing that?

I run 6/0/6/6/6 on her (that's her on the left in my avatar by the way), but I seem to be the only person on this site who doesn't like sticky grenades (I just can't seem to hit anything with them, and in general I don't like grenade classes). And sabotage is just hilarious against geth and Cerberus, and still a decent stagger tool and damage dealer against others.

Off topic- What pattern do you have on in that picture?

On topic- I have a 5/6/3/6/6 build. I use ever use Sab against Pyros, Bombers and Primes if I get caught in a nasty situation in a PUG match.

I ignored the characters, since I'm using the female Quarian Infiltrator, but the stuff in red is what I have so far. Right now, I'm farming and buying Arsenal Packs, so I can get weapons, mods, and gear faster, so I don't mind working towards items I may not have in suggested builds.

I actually have a Javelin, but unfortunately, it's only at level one.

On-topic: Thanks for the build suggestions, everyone. I'm trying each build by leveling and promoting the Infiltrator class after several rounds with each build until I find out which one I feel more comfortable playing with. Obvious noob question, so sorry in advance for any headaches I cause. A lot of the sniper builds call for the High-Velocity Barrel on the sniper, which ultimately gives negative cooldown on Cloak and Sabotage. So my noob question is, does, say, the Black Widow need the HVB since it already has (from what I've read) 'built-in' piercing, or can I swap it out for the Extended Barrel for less weight?

You don't need it but the extra piercing is nice for me. The weight doesn't apply on some of these weapons as well but that's a complex topic that is covered in some other threads, basically if it is a non DLC weapon and the lobby doesn't change the weight will not apply. I personally like double piercing on the BW and being able to shoot through anything but I don't honestly remember the clip capacity on a low level one. I know you would have to take the clip on the Javelin.

Also as long as you're cloaking and breaking it fast, you will not suffer long CDs anyways. CD is derived by percentage of time spent under cloak cycle with a minimum of around 3 secs.

Black widow is one of the bugged weapon on which weighted mod are weightless. See this thread for details.
Anyway BW has a very short inhate penetration compared to other piercing weapon. So adding a bit of piercing might be usefull with a geth scanner.
