Hey OP! If you like CQC, FQI is amazing.

http://kalence.drupa...#54!381!!!5GEA5

FQI/Drellgod Infiltrator are the only 2 kits I can use without worrying that I might suck. Even if it's a bad game, FQI can be amazing.

A lot of these suggestions for weapons are meaningless because the OP said they just got the game. What are the odds that they are going to have the Venom or the Javelin?

Sorry for my delay in replying. I was checking to see what I had so far.

https://docs.google....ZFE&usp=sharing

I ignored the characters, since I'm using the female Quarian Infiltrator, but the stuff in red is what I have so far. Right now, I'm farming and buying Arsenal Packs, so I can get weapons, mods, and gear faster, so I don't mind working towards items I may not have in suggested builds.

I actually have a Javelin, but unfortunately, it's only at level one.

On-topic: Thanks for the build suggestions, everyone. I'm trying each build by leveling and promoting the Infiltrator class after several rounds with each build until I find out which one I feel more comfortable playing with. Obvious noob question, so sorry in advance for any headaches I cause. A lot of the sniper builds call for the High-Velocity Barrel on the sniper, which ultimately gives negative cooldown on Cloak and Sabotage. So my noob question is, does, say, the Black Widow need the HVB since it already has (from what I've read) 'built-in' piercing, or can I swap it out for the Extended Barrel for less weight?

As soon as you get to the higher difficulties (gold and platinum), armour is so common that extra armour debuffing is never a bad thing, which the HVB provides. Heck, I tend to use AP ammo on top of the HVB V with a BW X. I can kill a gold Ravager in two shots. Image IPB

The Black Widow and Javelin are both great weapons that will mostly outstrip anything else in the sniper category even at level I. Maybe if you have a high level Widow it would be worth using that instead, but even then I'd say the extra shots in the BW make it worth it.

As far as weight: due to a bug, the HVB and other weight-adding mods don't actually affect cooldown (unless you're also carrying a weapon with ultra-light materials, which "fixes" the bug). The weapons screen says it does, but it doesn't have any actual effect in game.

Furthermore, if cloak and then immediately fire or use a power you will always get the minimum cooldown (3 seconds iirc), so weight is pretty much irrelevant to infiltrators, unless your build/playstyle has you staying in cloak for longer durations very often (which is rarely the case if you're sniping). The only gotcha here is that playing off-host with a laggy host you can sometimes encounter the "double-cloak cooldown" glitch, which means that after firing or using a power you don't decloak, but it does trigger a cooldown (so you can't manually decloak), and then when your cloak runs out if triggers another, full, cooldown. That can be very annoying when it happens.

Also, the GPSMG is pretty bad. Only the GI can conceivably make it work due to the geth weapon bonuses he gets. I'd stay away from it, to be honest.

My FQI carries only the Black Widow, no side-arm. All you need to do is learn how to snipe at point-blank range (also, cloak->sabotage->melee is more effective than you might think, even on a non-melee build; certainly good enough to deal with husks or abominations which can be hard to snipe effectively). Don't know if this has been mentioned (since I'm too lazy to go though 3 pages), but you should know that sabotage gives you no points. At all. Unless you're lucky and hack a synthetic that ends up killing someone.

So anytime you sabotage an assault trooper and do them a bunch of damage, or outright kill someone (sabotage can actually kill a husk on some difficulties), you get no points. The FQI therefore ends up scoring lower than you'd expect, which might make you feel like you're not contributing.

Sticky grenades are also a lot more powerful than people think. They benefit from cloak damage, your weapon, and ammo power damage! If you have, say, ammo piercing rounds 4, and Javelin, and throw a grenade while cloaked AND scoped in with your gun, you will do MASSIVE amounts of damage.

She is a fantastic character, though, and sabotage is a great power. She used to be my go-to platinum character.

Nowadays I use her a lot on golds. I give her a Widow with all the ammo piercing I can add onto it and a Geth scanner and just shoot jerks through walls.

@ Dilandau3000 - In your avatar, is that pattern on your character camo?

Seriously? Sticky nades are the best. I cloak behind a boss and spam all 4 at once while scoped in. I love sticking phantoms for some lols. You just need to learn how they work.Image IPB

I do that too. I got real lucky and like the third pack I opened had a QFI which, I really want a QME due to the incinerate but because now my RNG sucks, I only ever play on QFI and rarely my Krolord and GJ. It's really strange that when I play other classes I am like "Where my sticky nades and Sab at?"

Here's my plat build:

Sticky Grenades: rank 6; dmg, armor piercing, dmg

Tac Cloak: rank 5; dmg, recharge speed

Sabotage: rank 3

Quarian Defender: rank 6; dmg & cap, power dmg, weapon dmg

Fitness: rank 6; durability, shield recharge, fitness expert

Weapons: Crusader X, Phalanx X

I use her as a shotgun Infiltrator but I tried a SR on her and still did really well.

Stickies are a little trickier to use. You can throw them on the ground just in front of an advancing enemy or tag a large unit directly. They're best used as armor killers and usually go well with a shotgun setup because they're harder to hit with from SR range. Practice with them a bit, you may hate them now but they are one of the hardest hitting powers in the game capable of doing around 9K damage on the HI and slightly less on the FQI.

Yeah I would probably ditch recharge speed to at the very least get backfire on sabotage. Recharge is a useless evolution anyways.

Do you need the 6th evo to make them mines for that?

Nah but you have to place it close to them to get them in the radius. I find prox trap doesn't work for me personally well. I think when you choose that evo there may be a short delay in arming. Not sure that's just how it felt. I go radius, armor damage, damage personally but straight damage is pretty good also for just slaying armor exclusively.

I use the Phalanx as a backup.  And recharge speed helps to off-set the weight of the Crusader.

I mean if it works for you that's what is important but the recharge is pretty neligible in game most of the time. You're cloaking and breaking cloak quite a bit and usually only suffer the minimum CD penalty of 3 secs. Cloak CD is derived by percentage of time spent in cloak. Recharge speed won't change your min CD, it will improve your recharge if you spend the full time cloaked.

I know.  It's just that I don't really use Sabotage against anything but Geth, and I hardly fight them anyway.  Plus, I don't melee with her so the melee dmg evolution is useless to me.  Sometimes I just use cloak to get out of being slowly cornered, so if my cloak can recharge even just a fraction of a second faster, it helps out a lot on plat.

You can stop Cloak at four and put Sabotage to four, either evo is useful.

Also if you're worried about weight you can drop the Phalanx, Crusader will do more for you by itself.
