Or a puma or brown bear.

Maybe it's time for a new animal companion. Like a ghast, for instance.
Want my puppy.
They could make other ones avalable though,or you could mod him.
Kaiser, rather have a rottwweiler mabari, like the mod I used in the last two.

The Inquisitor is often shown with a raven on their shoulder. Is this to be our new animal companion?

I'm pretty sure they'll have one somehow. They did for Origins and 2.

That was weird, considering that the Warden actually owned one in the vanilla game and not through DLC. Though they brought it back in Witch Hunt.DRTJR wrote...

They had a mod for that at least, though he was just in the throne room not with you battling.LDS Darth Revan wrote...

Pissed me off, cause none of my wardens would EVER be without thier mabari, even the pragmatic blood mage.

I will be a very happy day if I don't get a dog forced onto me.
Basically DA:O minus noble origin ? If I recall, that was the only instance when the dog was forced on the player.

No the dog was still forced on me there, because if I didn't accept it I would have to leave an animal to either suffer (not doing the first quest) or let it loose in an area where it could be killed by darkspawn. Neither which is something I would do to an semi-intellegent animal. (and marbari are shown to have some level of sentinence).
Now if there been an option to hand it over to and ash warrior or someone in Denerim I would have been happy.

You do realize you can leave him in the camp the whole game right?esper wrote...

You saved him because you followed your own moral compass. That forced you to save him.
You could have let him die if you wanted to. There was the option of not having him ( except for noble origin ).
It was just that you couldn't let him die. That does't mean that it was forced on you. You forced the dog on yourself.

Which I totally did. That still does not chance there is a big dog in my camp every time I walk into it.
If you can't tell I don't really like dogs. In fact I am terrified of them.

How can you be scared of a mabari?
He's bonded to you he would only protect you.
Some of the biggest dogs are the most sweet and lovable to their master like wolfhounds or great danes.
