So I started my character with Sword/Shield, but I want to change it to 2h main and bow secondary, I'm only level 4 so is it still going to work? I've never played the game so I don't know how character builds work.

If you mean whether you can respec you character, the answer is no in the main game. If you play on PC, there are mods for respeccing. Also, in Awakening you can respec.

This is a bad idea: pick one weapon type and stick with it. Otherwise you'll end up being mediocre at both. There are limited number of talent points available and the level cap is 25, so you'll need all the points if you want to be efficient in combat.

There are build suggestion threads at the characters forum, if you want to have a look at those.

Warrior does have fewer talents for each weapon tier than other classes-12 compared to 16 for the others. If you were a different sort of warrior, you might be able to put a certain amount of talent points into it after taking care of 2H and Warrior talent trees.

The thing of it is though-2h warriors put all their points in strength, and bows require DEX for damage-at least I think it's Dex. Ideally, a bow user would like acombo of Dex and CUN. A tank or dual wield could do ok in using bows later on using DEX, but a 2H will not put enough in it to make using a bow practical.

^Bows are half STR and half DEX based except for crossbows that are independent.

They still wouldn't be great matches though. The bow user wants dex for talents and high tier bows, and can't wear massive armour (or even heavy without master archer), while 2h doesn't want to put a point into dex and needs massive armour to not be shredded by everything.

Your two-hander could switch to medium armour and plink away with whitewood bow (and still be reasonably effective, archery talents are notoriously not very good), but I'm not sure that counts.
