depends on who was there and how well they were trained

Being a no name colony and part of some species who's never experienced bird-like aliens lobbing crap from space at you is always going to be terrifying. It's an entirely new experience - and an extremely bizarre and violent one.

i thought you said there was troops on the ground

I don't think I said anything about that specifically, but there were.

My only point is that it's a crazy experience. It doesn't matter if there are troops or not -- it's totally new territory.

Personally, I'd go even farther and say that just the sight of a real Turian would be terrifying at first. Then I would kill it with a big rock. Nasty. Ugly bastard should die on sight. :innocent:

your brain can be trained to react differently to terror.

to me, i would be curious, not terrorfied, to see a turian. if they attacked then theyre just another confirmed kill.

Yeah. I'm not a fan of the Citadel Council.

Oddly enough, I'm an advocate for such groups.

I'm not surprised. I'm certain many are (knowingly or not), so long as said group serves their purposes, out of sight and out of mind.

I find that most people are alright with tyranny as long as it's a tyranny they approve of.

"Is not this... simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel."

said no patriot, ever.

and before you get it confused i said patriot, not subject.

It's Loki's little speech from The Avengers. I don't agree with it either.

The genophage is collective punishment against an entire species, and apparently causes a lot of krogan children to die in the womb or at least by the time of childbirth, so no, I don't support it - it goes way beyond anything that should be sanctioned as a tactic of warfare. Also, I think it is deeply unethical to entice millions of people into a war that will probably mean their deaths on the basis of a promise you don't intend to keep. That kind of exploitative, self-serving attitude towards other species is what started this entire mess with the Leviathans creating the Catalyst.

To address the OP, I think Bakara will advocate for a more restrained approach even if Wreav is in charge. I only have one Shepard with Wrex dead, so it's been a while since I've actually played through that scenario, but I think she still goes to the Kelphic Valley and later reports that many krogan are responding to her message. She also warns Wreav that the females will make the decisions about how quickly the krogan will try to re-expand their population.

Grunt strikes me as the type who'd mostly stay out of politics. I don't see him as being a "partisan" for either Wreav or Bakara.

All of  your answers are so dry, dude. I don't know if you have a 14 inch dick and have a right to be smug. Or if you just have aspergers.

I'm serious too. I can never tell who's genuinely cool or just lacking emotion.

I grew up in a bad area too. I'm not here to give a life story. Lets just say I'm alive, but people I grew up with aren't. I am a civilian though - but my dad is military. I know enough about it. He can admit to fear and strength all at once. He isn't always under control. I see more cops behave that way than I do military people. And then they lose their sh!t just like everyone else, sooner or later. Everyone has to scream "WTF?" once in awhile.

If it wasn't for Weekes, you all wouldn't have even gotten Tali in ME3. He pushed for her. She's still one of his favorite characters. Don't take his comments so seriously. I think he's a goofball. I was reading a comment the other day where he showed up at a Halloween party dressed as Jack (the bra strap version) -- do you really want to take a guy like this seriously? :)

Yeah I know and I'm very thankful for that, but what the bloke said was pure bull****.

The Rannoch Arc was so badly written:pinched:

This. As I said, it's a question of what positions we're allowed to take, what we're permitted to challenge the involved parties over. We can (rightly) challenge the Quarians over much of their conduct in ME3. The Geth? Not so much. We're not allowed to challenge (indeed, I don't think we were even supposed to remember) the 99% genocide, or the centuries of isolationism, or the placement of the dyson sphere, or the two years spent permitting the heretics to run amok, and how all of that ultimately contributed to the current situation. We can't question the safety of the Reaper code or the philosophical 180 from ME2. I knew where they were going to take the arc the moment Xen threw out those softball arguments for war in ME3 (when Gerrel made a stronger argument in ME2). One side of the argument was reduced to a strawman. Same for the Dalatrass.

I can appreciate a flawed character. Nobody likes Purity Sues. This was just a little too obvious.

My response to Loki:

"Perhaps I will eventually kneel.  But it won't be to the likes of you."

Well, whoever's in charge, there will be opposition. If you cure the Krogan under Wrex, there will no doubt be a warlike faction that doesn't deserve the cure. If you maintain the Genophage under Wreav, some nice guy Krogan who deserve better aren't getting treated justly. But what can you do? You either have to cure everyone or no one.

I'd say keeping the Genophage is the only practical decision with Wreav in charge. He's a mean, anti-alien, warmongerer. I guess you could say that under the same criteria, Humanity needs neutering because of everything Cerberus gets up to, but the difference is Krogan society is such that someone like Wreav is the norm, not the exception. And he's calling the shots because he subdued anyone who might disagree. If you cure the Krogan with his faction and supporters in power, it will end in tears. In a way, even the nice Krogan you're punishing unfairly aren't any worse off, because Wreav would just destroy them anyway, in keeping with Krogan culture.

Tbh, I even have doubts about curing them with Wrex in charge. In that case, it's a few strong Krogan keeping the others in check. There's no guarantee that he can keep the Krogan in check. In fact, the fact that the Genophage exists is a big part of how he even does manage to rule them. Remove it and I think his influence becomes a lot more tenuous.

I wouldn't support curing the genophage under Wreav, as I don't support the genophage under Wrex (I only end up curing it any way because I cannot bring myself to shoot Mordin, who can walk away in the former case).

I always thought it would have been cooler if the Krogan defeated the genophage as a culture, like Wrex's plan ends up working and the Krogan advance enough that their population increases despite the genophage. And maybe over the years they devise a cure or they evolve past it.

I don't even trust Wrex implicitly. He also talks about a new krogan empire and is demanding the *return* of 10 worlds...not to mention that Wrex isn't going to live forever. I still cured the genophage in my Wrex playthrough (because I couldn't stand to shoot Mordin), but I wanted to have a long discussion with Wrex regarding birth control after the whole Genophage thing was dealt with. I always sabotage the cure if Wreav is there. He doesn't even try to hide his intentions to attack the salarians/turians (and eventually everyone else).

Empires aren't necessarily evil; he only suggests (in a playful manner) it after Shepard mentions their need for at least one new planet; I concur, and I believe Bakara would support a genetic alteration that reduces Krogan ovulation, which unlike the genophage, would not result in a countless number of dead babies.
