I do not know, but it would have been better to have Hawke have a LI from the moment he/she got to Kirkwall. You could even pick the gender by talking to a specific person and have them suggest "reliving" their first night.

Varric, hands down. He's the type of dwarf companion I was hoping for in Origins. My Dwarf Commoner would have fallen for him very quickly.

I thought I'd hate Aveline, but her strong personality and consistent moral compass (that I've seen so far), overcome her lack of Isabella-type looks. Wouldn't mind if such a relationship would be strictly emotional, so as to respect her late husband's memory. Refreshing to see a strong female warrior properly clad in armor, as it should be.

I always thought it was disappointing that the best (personality, looks, everything) female party member was the Champion's sister. I would love to see Bethany come back as a possible LI in another DA game (assuming she survived 2).

I did like Aveline but I think a romance might have spoiled it. I enjoyed that I could have a strong platonic relationship with a woman in the game. Sure, the flirt options were there but Aveline wasn't noticing.
