As long as we're rating DLCs, where does Javik fit in?

Having played ME3 twice before downloading From Ashes, I honestly can't picture playing the game without him now.

Agreed. I played ME3 many times without Javik and now that I have him I don't want to let him go, the game feels so bare without him. It's the same with the rest of the DLC in the series, except Pinnacle Station and the Appearance Packs, the game's just doesn't feel complete without them. I cannot imagine going back and playing ME2 vanillia for example, it would feel so bareboned.

Citadel and Leviathan are solid and you should get them.

Omega not so much

I actually liked Omega a bit more than I was expecting for a couple of different reasons (bits of roleplaying reactivity, level design, Nyreen), but I  honestly can't say that it's "worth it" at the list price.  50% off, though? Sure.

Get Citadel. Best $15 you'll ever spend on DLC

I think I spent $7.50 on it, but it's $15 list and well worth it.

I enjoyed 'Citadel' as a piece of fluff.
I enjoyed Omega. It had some interesting moments, dialogue choices, interesting temp squaddies.
I really didn't like Leviathan. No choice, just a linear piece of horse byproduct imo.

well...

as i quite dislike the game (there are some very good scenes that i like, but most of it is just not worthy of it's predecessors), i would say:

NONE! (note: i had "From Ashes" from the start, but I never bought any other nor will I ever - I am not supporting what I simply don't like - even more so, as the DLC don't have any influence on the outcome of the story (!)...hell, I would have bought a "new, real and good ending"-DLC, but not just tacket on stories without all that much to them!)

greetings LAX
ps: but if i had to buy a DLC, i would probably go for "Omega" (by "had to" i mean: being forced to!)

Javik or From Ashes? As a squadmate I'd give Javik 10/10. He provides a unique perspective and doesn't kiss Shepard's behind like everyone else. The From Ashes mission is underwhelming, though.

I imagine it would be a blast on a sniper.

Omega: Completely detached from the rest of the plot. Will not be acknowledged before or after completion by anyone on your crew. Buggy cutscenes, but it's interesting how Aria reacts to you based on your actions throughout.

I will say this for the Omega DLC which does not apply to the other DLC: how the story plays out, or at least how Aria behaves, varies quite a bit based on your choices. So a second play through can play out quite differently, at least with regard to Aria's development, if not the route through the story. Many people are aware of how Aria acts differently at the end depending on how Shepard is played, but she also takes a very different attitude throughout depending on Shepard. I don't want to spoil too much, but I was really stunned when Aria said "keep the civilians safe" on my second playthrough rather than "focus on the enemy." Several other changes along these lines give this DLC more replay value than the others, IMO.

Citadel is most definitely worth it.
Omega only is if you like the gameplay of 3 or like Omega/Aria
Leviathan is worth it since it helps the ending not come out of left field as much plus gives interesting insight on the lore

Omega is the only Mass Effect DLC from all three games that made me feel as if my money was wasted.

Good thing price drops exist.

Citadel is must have, serioulsy. One of the best DLCs BW ever made and lots of content.
Nice story, great gameplay, jokes that will make you laugh so hard you almost pee youself.

From Ashes and Leviathan are good, too. Both should have been in the main game imho. Both expand the ME universe.

Omega is okish if you want some more shootyshooty and like Aria's oneliners, very simple story and nothing that connects to the rest of the game in any way. If you want to skip one DLC, skip Omega.

To me, anything that added more gameplay was worth it. I didn't bother with any alternate appearance stuff or weapon packs.

All of the DLCs were fun but my least favorite was Leviathan.

I really liked the mystery aspect of Leviathan, as well as the fact that you can break the content up across the game (the same goes for Citadel's character interactions, too).

I ended up enjoying Omega more than Leviathan. Leviathan really didn't do it for me at all.

Having said this Citadel blows them both out of the water, easily.

Citadel is good fun. Sure, it gets rather cheesy at times (often actually) but more time with the crew is always worth it IMO.

Leviathan I liked despite myself. It ties in to trying to prop up things I don't like but taken on its own it's pretty decent, and your squad actually having lines was a big plus. There's a good bit of mystery to it and poking around trying to find out things that could help against the Reapers in this way is what more of ME3 should've been.

I've not bought Omega (might do for completeness if the price ever comes down) and I've not played without From Ashes.

Citadel and Leviathan. From ashes is alright too,but kinda short. Although it does give you Javik, that makes it worth it. Omega is lame. Overpriced and way overhyped. The combat and atmosphere are the only good things- overall it's one of the weakest DLC's in the series in terms of price and quality. It's also riddled with bugs. Overall, I'd say it's about a 6/10. I'd say Leviathan is 8/10. And citadel is perfect, 10/10 in my opinion. Citadel DLC is everything great about Mass Effect- Cool main mission with lots of charm and unique places for combat, a great main villain, great boss fight- second best in the series next to Vasir in LOTSB. Then tons of exploration and side missions- pretty much everything that is lacking in ME3 proper, is greatly enhanced in Citadel DLC.

Overall tho, the DLC from ME3 is amazing top to bottom really. I think the DLC is probably-with the exception of the Krogan arc, the best content of ME3. Leviathan and Citadel DLC are easily the best stuff of ME3. Easy.

Citadel is fun, light-hearted, and chock full of fanservice. If you like the squadmates, you'll like it.

Omega is not fun, don't even bother

Leviathan...it's hit or miss. I thought it was pretty pointless, but some of the banter was nice. Ultimately, if you're choosing, go for Citadel. Leviathan is okay, don't even try Omega.

It's interesting to see what seems to be the general population of the BSN continually whine about choices and the story in general supposedly not being 'dark' or 'hard' enough, about squadmates 'worshiping' the player character, about heroism in general.

And then we see content like Citadel which epitomizes all of that. And what does it get? Pretty much unanimous praise.

I liked Citadel well enough, but I don't think near as much as most people here seem to. I really don't care for a good deal of the dialogue, and I would scrap the entire clone plot.

Citadel, obviously, it is amazing.

only other one I would bother with is "From the ashes". I didnt get this DLC till after having done several playthroughs... Javik is awesome.

I barely remember the "From the ashes" mission, but javik is def worth it

Yeah, Citadel is just light-hearted, unabashedly cheesy, and spits in the face of the established tone of ME3. And that's precisely why so many love it.
It provided the sort of closure that I think a lot of us were lacking. Not just in terms of ending the series, but in saying goodbye to characters that otherwise get a few unceremonious last words in the ruins of London.

Leviathan was pretty fun to go through, but not a fan of what they did with the story. Giving the reapers a definitive origin kills some of their villain appeal. All that crap about being timeless and unknowable (possibly extragalactic?), and then Leviathan stamps them with place and time of creation, turning them into yet another malfunctioning AI.
