All this talk about Omega being worth it if it was a hub is just nonsense. A hub is not a good story.

But a hub can be the basis for interesting stories to be told, or experiences to be seen in the game.

So can anything else.

And thus you can see why people, myself included, believe in the potential of having made Omega a hub.

Here we go again. I don't know why I don't take Paul Anka's advice and just not look.

Because it's sometimes amusing to watch David make an ass of himself. Other times however, it's just annoying.

If there is no conflict, there is no story.

A great deal of stories have conflicts that are quiet and small and subtle. Conflicts as simple as a man sitting and thinking about something. And very short stories generally have proportionally smaller conflicts. But it's always there.

They had more planned with Omega at one point, where it might've had more conflict in the smaller stories. Too bad they didn't get to do them. For example, Zaeed was at or near Omega, working with Cerberus in an original script. You had a chance to get him on your side or fight him. Same goes for hub ideas they originally had for the Citadel. Kasumi and Thane were both involved in a bigger Cerberus coup mission - Kasumi's stuff about the Hanar that we got in game was part of a bigger plan. There was a Hanar who was setting up a bomb somewhere in the wards. I think al-Jilani and Emily Wong played a part too, where they strapped cameras on Shep and reported the news while he explored the wards to investigate. It also tied into Terra Firma and Charles Saracino. Hub life was ambitious compared to what we got.

That sounds like quite a lot to put in there, like a kitchen sink method of setting up the story.

The Coup sounded pretty elaborate. In addition to that, I think Ash/Kaidan were already Spectres, and these plots were tied into their general paranoia about Shep. Javik was a big part of that too. Thessia as well.

If there was a character involved with Omega, (or the Terminus Systems in general) it should have been Miranda.

Part of me wonders how much would actually make it into the story even if more time was put into development. At some point, it could collapse under its own ambition, and stuff may get cut anyway.

A lot of that is what was cut.. it's why Javik became DLC and his place in the story changed. They had some of it done, just not enough. In the Final Hours app, it talks about it being the biggest heartbreak for the team (mainly because of Javik and Thessia).

True, but it's neat to get a glimpse of their work process and ideas anyways. I'm always curious how they see the ME world.

From Ashes - Solid Pack. DLC offers awesome squadmate.

Bottom Line: Small pack, but great character.

Leviathan - Another Solid Pack. Offers a great story that makes things flow better in the core narrative.

Bottom Line:Adds crucial context to the reaper plot

Omega - Would be solid if it didn't have Aria speech bug. Bearable but a tad annoying. No hub understandable. Fans would've hated that no squadmates would be there like the presence they have on the Citadel.

Bottom Line: Good DLC and surprisingly lengthy. But buggy and should be cheaper. Even 800 is acceptable IMO

Citadel - Best of the bunch. 2 downers in my book 1)Can have an effect of the final romance scenes in a buggy way. 2) No Collector weapons.

Bottom Line:Great package. But has romance bug and I have to play MP just to use collector guns...lame.

In hindsight? All worth it But if Omega retained its temporary 600 MS point tag as permanent, all 4 would likely be deemed worth it to everyone.

Lip syncing issues occur before Cronos Station...Dunno if it always occurs but it can. I've seen it in both Ashley and Liara romances...Lip sync is off until the first dialogue wheel comes up...happens when they first enter your cabin and when you first wake up from the last dream. Again....not the end of the world, but noticeable enough to point out.

Ah OK. I've haven't kept up with the ME3 squad romances.

I heard there's another bug where Tali comes back from the dead too. lol
