I just asked the xfire thing.. my nick was Stinkyarmpit. They said you can find and purchase Statues and Fishies and they can die but you can get someone else to feed them. I don't quite remember exactly what they said but i'm so happy!

Missing the whole point of having pets, of course there is tech to feed fish automatically. But... the whole point to having the things (and having them on the ship) is something else to interact with in a meaningful way. If you auto-feed them they are just another piece of decoration.



Don't want pet fish because you don't want the hassle of remembering to feed them ..... don't buy them when given the opportunity, then the tank will be the meaningless bit of decoration.
