Space Hamster is a Baldur's Gate reference. He's buyable in-game. Basically just a little glass hamster box that stays on a shelf in your room.

It's almost like the team that makes Sims 3 expansion packs got really hammered one night and started making content for Mass Effect 2...not that I'm complaining. lol
