I ain't said a damn thing that isn't true. And if you try to quote me on that I will plead the fifth.

I ain't American so I dunno what the fifth is, nor do I care.

:bandit:

Where isn't america at this point? We're like the reapers, indoctrinating all your countries and businesses to be like us. It's pretty much america, funny speaking america, and america lite, with everyone else falling into the "unamerican" category to be converted later.

You do realize Reapers are incredibly stupid, nonsensical things, right?

Exactly.

True Story.

World Trade Center and its pro-american capitalist policies... You must be like us or you fail (we make you fail!)
Global Village attitude and its liberal cultural dictatorship... embrace the values of our culture or you're bigots! (bigots are as bad as Tyrannosaurs and should be extincted!)

Oh wait... It's all because of the Internet. The American Ultimate weapon!

It's gotten to the point that americans don't want to be americans because everyone else in the world is american, and so you get people who define their entire lives as not being like americans.

It's sad really. Just embrace it and ride it out till the hegemony collapses, like all the ones before did, and american culture will shrink back into it's region just like british culture did when they lost big time.

Personally, I don't see a problem with american culture myself. It's mostly in food and movies that we derive most of our power over you people, the money is more corporate culturalism then american culturalism.

So make some tastier food and better movies, and we'll adopt your culture and celebrate you guys. Look at japan, they figured that **** out.

Much of it is very foolish, yes.

But this is what people do when they don't have power and are desperately looking for some.

The good news is, it's fairly harmless, if not irritating.

To steer this back on topic a bit, I would like to know why you, the OP, have come to the conclusions about bioware that you have. I mean, I understand wanting bioware to succeed, we all do deep down. But I don't see the argument of dragon age 2 being anything but a learning experience for them to know what never to do again, rather then a triumph.

And beyond that are some other factors, but mainly it's this sentiment that confuses me.

A lot of it is noise that gets blasted, but I think that BW does indeed deserve a lot of that backlash it has received. From terrible business decisions (on their part and on EA's part) and corporate policies, inept PR, some genuinely bad ideas from several of the lead writers (especially for ME3), and a... cavalier attitude over fans, BW certainly earned the reputation that is being discussed here.

What 'terrible business decisions' were those, exactly?

First day DLC. Questionable micro-transactions in the multiplayer. Multiplayer being connected to the single player for the best ending (Was fixed by the extended cut thankfully).

Why is first day DLC a terrible business decision? As for multiple, feedback I've heard has overwhelmingly been that it's fair and completely possible to avoid.

They deserve every spiteful post they are getting in regards to ME3, DA2 and il trow in SWTOR for good measure, the fact that they made good games in the past does not give them a free pass to make mediocre games in present times and sell it off as gold.

And at the last treating their fan base as a toilet after a spicy kebab dinner isnt earning them much in the endearing department...

Releasing an unfinished game with only a year and a half of development time for one. Creating a PR disaster with mass effect 3 for another. Making said PR disaster worse by coming off as mocking fans who didn't like the endings with a "you just aren't deep enough to get it" type response. The extended cut misinformation about the changes starting at the illusive mans base, when really they only start post-beam run. Star wars the old republic offering making promises for features not present in the game before relase. Mass effect paragon lost and dragon age dawn of the seeker. Falicia Day and Jessica Chobot cameos in game for no real good reason, especially the laters which resulted in the death of a beloved long term character in order to accomidate her into the story(emily wong). List goes on from there.

Pretty much it's taken up from dragon age 2 to inquisitions gameplay footage to build back even the tiniest of their lost good will.

I wonder what first day DLC we'll see in DA:I. Maybe a mission to hunt down and tame your own personal griffon? Oh! Or maybe a saucy "romance ****ing everyone" mode? That would be guaranteed to make cash!

These complaints border on the kind of reasoning I would expect from a preschooler.

Emily Wong, ( a 'beloved long term character'...laughable) was killed to make way for Allers? Because it would be so difficult to have Allers and keep Wong alive?

Yes, this pretty much hits the 'foolishness' I mentioned earlier dead center.

Those yes, but also the tsunami of hype that flooded the media for ME3 that promised things the developers could never deliver on (false advertising), the lies about content in the game ('the Rachni will totally be an important part of the game' and 'you can RP your Shepard better than ever before'), the near complete refusal to acknowledge that there was a disconnect between the fans and the creative team during the storm after the ending.

They're almost certainly preparing in advance what they're going to release for DLC. Is that not wise, considering they know they're going to be releasing it?
