I liked that Hawke would speak during combat, alerting that a specific companion has fallen or after slaying an enemy. So I just wondered if the Inquisitor will be vocal during combat too.

Since Hawke was, I think it's safe to say that the Inquisitor will also have lines in combat. The Warden also had lines in combat, and s/he was supposed to be "the Silent Protagonist."

Of course. How else are they going to direct their Pokemon in battle?

He'd better be. Vocal combat is the best combat.

"Oh! Oh yeah! Stab me harder! Shove that huge claymore deep in my axe-hole!"

In a discussion some months ago David Gaider indicated that they intended to largely eliminate combat "barks" because they really don't accomplish anything other than annoying people and making the combat noise even louder and more unpleasant than it can already be. He didn't state how they intend to go about this, but it seems likely that the combat yapping will be dramatically decreased if not completely eliminated.

THANK GAWD.

I actually LIKE the combat remarks. They tend to appear at random, and often stupid, times, but it seems more realistic to have characters shouting in combat. In close quarters, there is no reason to actually have lines (unless it's two characters clashing blades (or lightsabers), and they stop to talk for a moment).

Since DA is not close quarters combat, rather group versus group combat, the dialogue only needs to be occasional.

The only bad thing about combat dialogue, is that it usually doesn't make sense. Perhaps BioWare intend to have only dialogue from specific characters, during specific fights? The would be the minimum amount of dialogue I want.

I didn't realize that my Warden was speaking during combat until like 15 hours into the game. I then deeply regretted picking the "cocky" voice.

I don't see why not. One of my favorite 'little' things in DAO was what your party members would shout out on the field as well. I couldn't understand half of what Sten was saying but it was still epic. My first time through DAO I had a tough time with the Archdemon. Everyone but Sten had fallen and he was almost a goner too. Just as I expected to fall yet again, Sten was kind enough to inform the Archdemon of who he was facing by proclaiming "YOU BATTLE A QUNARI!!!!" before landing the final blow before the cut-scene.

No.

To Hell with "GAWD" (aka "Gaider's Association With Demons" who are telling him to get rid of this).

This will be the first Bioware RPG without battle cries then. They've all had them since Baldur's Gate and they've always added to the sound of combat because people don't just silently hack away at each other as they do in other games.

So I hope this isn't true and that Gaider's broken off his association with the miserable demons who told him to remove this feature.

OH GAWD! I lol'ed so hard.:o "Where are the enemies?"……… "EVERYWHERE!"

Anyway I'm hoping if our Inquisitor does speak in combat, it's something to rebuff what the enemy said. Like (taking this out of the Mass Effect book):

Enemy: "Weakening their integrity!"
Inquisitor: "B**** my integrity is just fine!"

Heh, I absolutely loved the cocky voice to my female elf, in addition to loving the voice itself it was both entertaining and fitting.

"I see I bested them even while unconscious, I am that amazing" - a shame I rarely got to hear it, as I almost never let my character fall in combat.

Yeah, because blood mage Hawke yelling "I can't keep this up much longer!" and "need . . . mana!" every. three. seconds. was sooooooo entertaining.

I don't mind the occasional quip, but the noise needs to go. It's bad enough that the combat music is usually way too loud compared to the ambient music.
