Hello, I managed to get the toolset to recognize my
icons, but the icons are missing the "2da texture" file (no idea what this entails), and the icons are all
multicolored boxes. Does anyone know how to fix this so that the icons
are actually there?
-Thanks

If you're working on spells/feats/classes you would just put the icon name into the "icon" row of the 2da you're editing.
If you're making icons for items and not simply overriding old ones, you'll need to get into nwn2_icons.2da (make sure you use the latest version of any 2da you're editing, usually in data X2)
Check for reserved ranges of what you're editing and reserve your own.

If you need an example of what to do, take a look at this new_icons.zip release. Per Surango, you should also reserve a 2da range for your icons so we don't have ID conflicts.

One last thing, do not edit 2das in the data folders (program files/atari/neverwinternights 2/data) Extract them and place them in your override folder (documents/neverwinternights 2/override) If you don't do this, you will have a forever edited 2da in your installation folder, which can mess things up if you don't know what you're doing.
you can get tlkedit to edit 2das and Dialogue.tlk. If you need to edit the tlk, back it up first and/or put it in your documents location of neverwinter nights 2. No subfolders.

I unpacked the nwn2_icons.2da file, and added in my single test icon name, (now i have the nwn2packer to make a hak file by importing that icon and saving it as a hak file) I placed the modified nwn2_icons.2da file into the override folder. what do i do next? Sorry, I'm more of a hands on learner. I've looked all over for a step by step process of how to import your icons from start to finish.

- Add new lines to nwn2_icons.2DA
- Put the modified 2DA in a HAK
- Put the TGA icons in a HAK (usually the same HAK)
- Put the HAK file in the 'HAK' folder under 'My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/'
- Associate the HAK with your module
Then you're ready to start using the new icons in your own module.

Just one extra note: make sure your added row(s) don't create duplicate row numbers.
