I am sure you all remember that group of blood mages in DA2 that will attack you no matter what you say to them and no matter how much you help them. Hawke just stood there and let it happen. If we can literally end wars with words, why can't we prevent pointless battles such as this by pointing out the idiocy of the group that wants to fight? I mean jeez, that is literally the moment where I decided I hate the mages of DA2. Anders was just the icing on the cake.

So please Bioware, if a group is going to act stubbornly stupid, please give us players a chance to call them out on it.

It is troubling that this happened so much that you have to ask this question.

Hence why I was asking for clarification. Because it happened way too damn much.

I'm not sure if the need for this conversation is either really funny or really sad.

So agree with OP. I wish that for just ONCE, my Hawke would say:

"Makers breath, are you even listening to yourself? Can you act rational for just ONE moment so we can talk about this?"

I think it was suggested in the enigma codex's that the city was built in such a way that it slowly drove peeps super paranoid and crazy, esp mages to make it easier for them to get possesed. I felt like that was a missed opportunity to give Hawke something to be proactive about and undue whatever crazy crap was done to the city to calm everyone the hell down.

I'd also like to have more opportunities to "conclude" our interactions with individuals who will obviously cause problems in later events.

Why didn't Hawke just choke Petrice at the end of Shepherding Wolves? The world will never know.

I wanted to aid them both in their scheme to take down the Knight-Commander.

If Hawke just killed Anders and Meredith and destroyed the idol, then things might not be so bad. While we're at it, maybe install Carver as Knight-Commander...

Until they attacked you no matter what, right?

I do find it disturbing you'd support having Templar recruits forcibly possessed...

Indeed op.

Also, if they make it to the beta, could the Red Temps even be reasoned with or fully comprehend the logic and morality behind their actions? I think it would be feat in itself if they could hold a convo without them screaming blood mage.

No more better then templars forcing mages to undergo the Harrowing by summoning power demons to go after them. What's the difference, really?

Hold on. One group is trying to prepare mages for fending off demonic possession. The other one is using blood magic to force demons into the bodies of templars. There is a BIG difference.

LOL Ah. No. I just assumed you were doing random "stream of thought" for someone trying to talk to a crazed blood mage.
