Well, that's disappointing. You'd be better off manually getting headshots and then charging the Graal again during the HM animation. Using a lock-on function that prevents you from hitting a target's head seems like a bad strategy to me.ArgentN7 wrote...

Quick question: when you lock on a target with the bow and release the charged Graal shot, does it hit the head or center of mass?
It goes to the chest area, so more toward the center of mass. but sometimes if you release it early before the aiming laser is locked dead onto the target you will get some nice headshots.
Obligatory L2P because this is BSN. Scrub.

Possibly giving you more arrows for more damage there?

Did you find that charge regen wasn't necessary over the passive weapon damage?

Arrow powers aren't needed most of the time anyway. Just a regular combo shot vs mooks with health and Shields should finish them.
Armor Piercing Arrows are for bosses/sub bosses and Concussive Arrows are for CQC, disabling an enemy, and getting rid of Phantoms in 2 shots.
Platinum makes the most of the arrows, but even then you would want the weapon damage rather than a better charge regen. 40 seconds is good enough even on Platinum.

It's easy to get headshots on Collectors.

It's actually around 30 seconds because of the weight not applying on the Graal I believe. I think you would get like 10 secs off the charge regen with the other option and regen a charge every 20 secs.ArgentN7 wrote...

I'll play around with it. I get what you're saying though. He is squishy and you want to get the most burst damage per shot and the weapon damage gives you that over the charge regen.

It's also worth noting that the auto-aim can help make the graal safer to use off-host.ArgentN7 wrote...

It's not completely lag-proof, but it's a lot more reliable than without the auto-aim, so it can make for a useful safety net if you get into a mildly laggy game.
Anyway, am I reading the build right that you take 6b (2 extra grenades) on concussive arrows instead of 6a (1 extra arrow) Argent, or was that an error?
Because if so, replacing the sixth rank of concussive arrows with the first three of cain mines would literally cost you nothing, since you gain 2 grenades either way (kalence is inaccurate on grenade counts on multi-grenade kits).
They aren't all that powerful with only 3 points in them, but they can still be useful in aiding situational awareness, by going bang when something goes through the doorway you put them on.

You're right, but Geth Scanner already does a better job of letting you know something is in the doorway. The only thing you're adding is the ability to have a damage spike at the expense of losing 1 grenade capacity per cast rather than having 1 grenade capacity spread into 3 shots.
The damage spike isn't too great considering AP arrows and the Graal will pretty much destroy anything with armor anyway. (It can 2 combo shot Platinum Brutes/Ravagers) So having 3 points into Cain Mines wouldn't work too well unless you're spamming them to kill Praetorians/Banshees faster. But even then you wouldn't have the Grenade Capacity to support spamming. So it may not change anything, but I'm glad you brought this up because I may try going with 6a and seeing if 5 grenades are enough to be used on Gold and Platinum.
I'm always improving my build, I used to use Shock Trooper upgrade for a while before I discovered that Geth Scanner was the best choice for him.

I usually use beserker gear on him, the other non-grenade gear for him that jack crapper suggested, geth scanner get's uncomfortable after a while.ArgentN7 wrote...

With no points in the concussive arrows, he only has 4 grenades, but that's still just enough for me on gold provided I visit a crate or two occasionally, I can't comment on platinum.
I use the 6a charge generation evo on him though, which you don't, so you might be cutting things close by wave 11.
Of course, I tend to use 2 or 3 grenades at the start of each wave to place mines behind me, which you don't.
But then again, you most likely waste a few charges when switching arrow types, which I don't have to worry about.
Incidentally, who here's used 6a charge generation?
I've never tried it without, any opinions on if it's worth the points?

Using 7 arrows on Platinum, I usually have 2 extra Thermal Clip packs left by extraction.

I just did a platinum solo with this class with a similar build, to see if it was doable and it is. In my build I mainly used the venom and had concussive arrows for chill and capacity, went for all power damage and took rank 4 and 5 fitness because it was a solo.
It's good to see someone else use a melee build on this class.
