 Anyone know why? I have the trilogy edition installed, so its definitely installed, and i dont remember changing anything relating those game folders but there it is.

hmm, sorry don't really know about the trilogy edition.
I have the separate games and while ME2 is shown, ME1 isn't, BUT I had to load Pinnacle Station via Origin after reinstalling (I think ...) and that one shows on Origin and properly loads ME1

I don't have the trilogy edition either, but I'm guessing that Mass Effect simply isn't tied into Origin. You should look for the folder you installed it to and just launch it from there, like in the "old days" :-)

If you have the Trilogy it is all tied to Origins.

Opening from a shortcut on desktop? I would delete it and go to Origin Games/Mass Effect/Binaires folder. Goto MassEffect.exe and send new shortcut to desktop(right click, send to desktop). See if that works

or

Right click on game image in Origin and click repair install. See if that works

Still not working. Try running as administrator.
