I'm frustrated that ME3 didn't learn its lesson IMO

Time hasn't lessened my critique, only my anger.

Good way to sum it up.  Though, I was angry at the game itself, compared to the endings, which I didn't mind.

Best thing to approach their up coming titles is well, don't hype yourself up - take everything they say with a grain of salt and well, I suggest not pre-ordering either.

Oh, I'm done with ME. I've no interest in the next game, and only half-hearted interest at best in DA:I.

Ironically, when ME3 first dropped, although I picked it up, I couldn't get around to playing it for about 3 months. I was blissfully ignorant when the **** was hitting the fan, having chosen to avoid all spoilers to the point of not even reading reviews or fan feedback. The first two games were great, BW couldn't possibly fumble the ball on the goal line could they.....?

I went dark after those space copies dropped and rumors began circling about the endings (Although I spoiled myself on some details of the game, I tried to keep the ending spoiler-free) I figured the rumors were exagerations, Bioware wouldn't be that stupid.  So I stayed away from the BSN as I played.

Man, the rumors didn't do it justice!  I came back to see the BSN aflame!

I was never angry with mass effect 3's ending, just simply disappointed & sad. and a tad confused I admit. I had a hard time believing bioware would end the series with the ending i saw.

Had I got that ending when y'all did then I'd probably have not believed it. "It's a joke, they'll fix this in the DLC right....?" - Only by the time I DID get the ending everyone had already kicked off, we'd had the EC, and BW were already saying that "No, that's it, no more changing the ending" - then I was just incredibly disappointed.

I don't regret playing the trilogy at all - at its best, it was the game series of the generation for me. I could even go back and play the series again, as I have done already, but the disappointment over the endings, well that just completely turns me off of any new series set in the ME universe. If others are happy with the way the series ended, good for them.  Me? Loathe it, for reasons given by various people ad infinitum. Good luck to those sticking with the series, hope you enjoy what BW comes up with next for ME. Out of curiousity I'm interested in seeing which approach they take, but I really don't see it being one that I'd be interested in at this point.

I know the "ME2's where it went wrong" argument - don't subscribe to it personally.

Of course, it's the better out of the three, obviously.

Opinions aside, obviously.

Bioware is way to proud of it self to make any serious changes in way they develop their games. The more we as community critise the direction Bioware is going, the more they're going stick to it.  In the end they never truly apologized for the poor quality of the endings, they merely apologized for us supposedly not understanding it.

Elaborate. I'm not up to date on these stupid emoticons, aside from the more obvious ones.

Should a minority really influence their development?  Are we better because we critisize it to a great extent?

For example, I would never want a game made my Smudboy - but he gives good criticism, sort of...

When it's valid critism, yes, they should.

What am I supposed to infer from an image of a guy whisltling? Are you whistling at me because you think I'm attractive? I don't swing that way, pal.

And what is considered valid critism?  Just curious - not trying to say you're wrong, btw.

Facts, my friend. pointing out all the literary failures and that are present in the narrative, for example.

30+ pages later......and it's still unclear as to what "lesson" ME3 was supposed to learn (from itself?).

Don't underestimate your fan base's investment?
Don't be condescending?
Don't use "art" as a non plus ultra shield?
Don't listen to Walters?
Don't use minimalist delivery for something that is supposed to give emotional payoff?
Don't forego peer review?
Don't rush a game of this size?

All of the above?

They had no lesson to learn. You don't want them to write (what they like), you want them to please you. The art as ultra shield, the minimalism (once again you're wrong!), and the "rushed" game, all of this is wrong it's just you who see that.

they need to keep consistency in both story & plot
here is a 14 min vid about narrative a preety basic one
www.youtube.com/watch

in 99% of the trilogy the reapers were evil, threatened, enslaved species, indoctrinated people, created plagues to kill of species except humans, & only one thing in the game sounds like synthesis if you look up zha'til the reapers took over them & on a genetic level tranformed their offsprings into synthetic slaves (javik tells tali this on rannoch) & in the end they are good without any buildup,

And the game was rushed in the final hours they admit they had to remove important parts of the story because of time & in the leaked script there was a lot more that was not in the game.

for example priorithy earth would have been a mission where all of your ems would play out, shep would fall under reaper control & an transformed illusive man bossfight

Implying that a mind-controlling plant crapping out asari clones and Shepard's brain being rearranged by a secondhand mental "cipher" (lol) to get the team to the story's pseudo-MacGuffin is something you can shrug off that easily.

The mind controlling plant was mind controlling through pain responses. To some extent that can be done today.  The clones and the Cypher were left relatively unexplained, but you could still extrapolate some basic justification for them. That is not the case with some of the stuff that happens later on and certainly not with all the crap that's pulled by the end.

And it can easily be shrugged off because that's where the bar was set. Your only move for shrugging off the subsequent stuff, if that is what you're trying to do is to prove they're equivalent. Which they're really not.

Yes, "Biomass" is a much better explanation for space magic in ME1.

This is not a position worth defending, dog.

Biomass is defined as biologial material. Everything the thorian used was biological material. It used biological material to create ambulatory creatures it shaped to look like armor-wearing asari. It was able to mimic their form perfectly. Problem?

It is something you have to suspend your disbelief for, obviously. But once you accept the idea of what the thorian is, the rest falls into place. However I look forward to you telling me how this is equivalent to "organic energies" or any of the other bull**** ME3 and even ME2 pulls.

Nah, Boware will just remove what you critise.
