I'm frustrated that ME3 didn't learn its lesson IMO

like a sports sim (tho the campaign is pretty bland in general)Any Call of Duty taken by itself is a perfectly decent game. More than decent. It's only problem is releasing new entries that don't add that much.
You keep saying that, but you don't say why its a sports sims at all.
Mass effect 1 is a driving simulator more then a rpg. Why? Because stone cold ET said so, that's why.

Yearly iteration if the same game with forgettable single player experiences, MP focus and minimal gameplay innovation, just like a sports sim.

There is no such thing as a "sports game model" though, and even more so, that isn't what you said at all. ", COD is nothing more than a shooter turned into a sport sim" =/= "COD is just a shooter using a sport sims model for releasing games".
This post, if I am not mistaken, is the first time you've actually elaborated on what you mean by saying "COD is a sports sim" or "Took a sports sims model and applied it to a shooter", in the entire page long discussion you've made about this, over someone bringing up how many game copies were sold.

Also that was about calling COD an outlier.
... which it still is, when discussing sales figures and how it factors into quality. Y'know, the point of your statement?
But, again: who gives a damn about COD in relation to this topic?

Because the point remains, it is qualitatively poor but sells like hotcakes even by sports SIM standards
Your points are contradicting themselves.Copies moved ≠ quality
I mean look at CODCOD is not an outlier. COD is used in this category of games wrongly, COD is nothing more than a shooter turned into a sport sim with a ton of skinned box mechanics sprinkled in. It should never really be used in comparison to a narrative driven game
Does COD matter in this discussion or not?
I'll just repost the above.

Well it should really be called the EA model. Or perhaps EA-Activision Model. ME3 made steps towards that but it's not quite there yet. ME4 might be though. Story prediction: in ME4 it turns out the holokid was right when we get betrayed by the one synthetic lifeform everyone overlooked: chest-high walls:ocrimzontearz wrote...

I do! I've put way more hours into COD than ME.
